Not having to do with our discussion her, but I have to comment on the Atlanta perimeter. Like the Dallas Fort Worth perimeter, it's an argument for the infrastructure idea. Big cities need more public transportation, high speed rail and such.

It won't matter if you can't protect yourself from robbing and raping people on rail.
Atlanta already has rail called MARTA and people who want to live don't ride them.

Woman raped for 40 minutes while passengers instead of helping filmed it,look at Philly.

? Can you / will you explain why you feel that way?

The three were trying to effect a citizens arrest, of someone that they thought suspicious. The jogger rushed the man holding the shotgun .... and it discharged. Killing the jogger. Had he [jogger] not rushed that man he in all likelyhood would not have been shot.

Would you not want your neighbor(s) to attempt to protect your property in a legal manner ?

When I built this house .... twice, contractor's supplies/tools were stolen ...... he tried to sue me, for payment from my insurance company. It became a back & forth argument/mess. I wish someone would have stopped the thief ........ jus-sayin.

My brother had a permit to carry and I told him the gun would get him into more trouble than out of trouble. It’s a little apples and oranges but it still applies.

My opinion: they murdered that man.
Also my opinion: I don't argue with anyone who uses the expression "jus-sayin."

While you are correct, that is part of the progressive plan to eliminate the 2nd Amendment. It may still be there on paper, but we will be afraid to exercise it. I am not saying this based on these three because I haven't followed that case closely enough, although I think that life without the possibility of parole is excessive, given that I think that it is unlikely that they set out intending to murder this guy. Serial killers have gotten lighter sentences.

Well ... think about this, if the nineteen people that struck on 9/11/01 who were acting very suspicous in many ways, leading up to that day [but yet had committed no crime @ that time] .... would have been arrested? / detained? .......how many people would still be alive today ??? Something close to 3000 I believe.

Or how about the Boston Marathon bombers ? ........ who were indeed acting suspicious .... how many did they kill or mame ?

Maybe it is time we take a more aggresive approach to those acting "suspicious" ?

I am not acusing Mr Arbery of anything ...... but apparently his behaviour ? caught the eye of the three in question. One of them an ex police officer [professionals that usually have an insight to impending criminal activity]. As such they thought he needed a closer look ?

I just do not believe that the three of them that day just thought .... all hell, let's go kill us a black guy. I believe they were truly trying to do what they thought was the right thing to do, to protect their neighbors property.

Whilst someone doing something suspicious isn’t illegal, it should at least be noteworthy, or so the idiom of “see something, say something” goes.

it’s kind of a catch 22 in that we all know what it feels like when we see something amiss and then have to think about what to do about it.
From the kid who slips a pack of chewing gum into his pocket at the convenience store to seeing someone using a slim-jim to break into a car to seeing a stranger looking into someone’s home window.
    What do we do?

    We think:
The kid with the chewing gum might fish it out and pay for it or if he doesn’t it’s not going to hurt anyone.
The guy with the slim-jim left his keys in the car and is trying to get into his own car and if I call the cops I’ll be embarrassed.
The guy looking into the window might be looking for his co-worker and if not, it’s none of my business.

Lots of ways to look at things and lots of ways to react but unfortunately, the three guys in the OP didn’t think it through.

but if what you described happened is true...they'd been better off to just call the law...
going out with loaded shotgun...not on safety ..
