    Ayn Rand in which the book and movie Atlas Shrugged was based on is one of my favorites. She is the Davey Crocket of todays world,or was before we finally gave it all away.
    And for us Christians the Bible agrees with her if not taken out of context.

    Sorry. All I had to see was Phil Donohue, and my interest waned abruptly. His show, Jenny Jones, and Ricky Lake: UGH. Disgust city.

    @Marie Mallery

    I hadn't expected you to agree with me, nor did it matter if you did not. Donohue had a "thing" about constantly berating Americans for their "homophobia"; he sickened me with his constant re-iterating.

    Jenny Jones set up a poor guy, who was not quite "right"; he retaliated by murdering the jerk Jenny Jones had instructed in advance to "come on to him":

    "Scott Bernard Amedure (January 26, 1963 – March 9, 1995) was an American murder victim. During a taping of The Jenny Jones Show, a television talk show, Amedure revealed that he was attracted to an acquaintance, Jonathan Schmitz (born July 18, 1970). Three days later, Schmitz confronted Amedure and shot him twice in the chest. He confessed to the killing and was found guilty of second degree murder. The Amedure family successfully sued The Jenny Jones Show for wrongful death, but the judgment was subsequently overturned by the Michigan Court of Appeals. The episode was never broadcast, although segments of it were played for television news programs."

    The episode WAS shown on national TV: I saw it.

    Ricky Lake? Well,......she produced a video of herself giving birth to her child while underwater. Strange, and not condoned by Medicine.

    Assuming you believe in probably the original, if not one of the original, fact checking site, we have this:

    "In 2010, freelance writer Patia Stephens reported obtaining a Social Security Administration record via FOIA request showing that Ayn Rand collected a total of $11,002 in Social Security payments between 1974 and her death in 1982 (her husband, Frank O’Connor, also collected benefits until his death)."

    According to this information, she hated the idea, but realized it was necessary. I find it sad, really; it must have been horribly difficult on her from a psychological point of view.

    That's true. That's why it's a "socialistic" policy the same as Medicare and Medicaid. Part A is paid 100% by taxes. I don't know if the government kicks in anything for Part B. Part C is a combination of both of these. Part D is supplemented by taxes.

    If this is true why do we have deductions form our SSI checks for insurance?
    I know its not much but its also not free considering what they take out over a working persons lifetime of emploment.

    Why is it so important to you that this is linked with welfare? Which is totally false.
    I do agree we are taxed too much and illegally since its unconstitutional and plain out wrong but still doesn't make it right.

    We have deductions for Part B, not for Part A. We also have deductions for Part D. The government subsidizes Part D; it doesn't pay the whole thing. I don't know if it subsidizes Part B; however, if it doesn't, then the premiums are shared. Different people use different amounts of Part B; one person may see many doctors while another may see none.

    I didn't say it was linked to welfare; I said that both are "socialistic" programs because the money is spread out among all of the taxpayers and given to those people who need it. For instance, if I need Part A and someone else never goes to the hospital, that other person's taxes are subsidizing my hospital bills. I don't pay a dime out of my pocket for hospital expenses (except for my deductible if it isn't otherwise covered).

    Oh I misunderstood your reply. I think we had all we needed before the soccialist hit our nation like a nukeclear fallout. America has never been the same nor will it ever recover. But so go all empires sooner or later.I just feel for the youth mostly.
