I was speaking of hawks. We saw 2 crows knock a small rabbit out of the clutches of a hawk in the air. We heard the noise and looked up. I'm sure the rabbit didn't survive the fall though.
Our hen killed a crow we had been feeding for a few years, named Pretty Bird. Crow got too close and Goldy attacked it crow slowly flew away injured never to be seen again, then that same night something killed Goldy the hen inside their very well secured coop.
Crows can work in groups I think, as ravens do. When we had a dog team, the ravens worked in pairs: one would distract the dog while the other stole the dog's food or moved the dish to where the dog couldn't reach it and sat there eating the food while the hungry dog watched. Ravens are also known to guide hunters to game as they know there will be a gut pile left behind and a feast for a murder of ravens. Eagles and hawks are different but both are raptors.

I learned that plural for crows is a “murder,” ravens are known as an “unkindness” or a “conspiracy.” As a bonus factoid, owls are known as a "parliament."
We call a group of ravens a murder as well. They act just like crows but are far larger birds and are perhaps even a bit smarter. They prey on baby ducks in the spring when they are young, but are not large enough to tackle a mature duck. Eagles, however, can and do tackle adult ducks, but the wild ones are cautious while domestic ducks are easy prey. I have never known an eagle to take a chicken here, but they certainly would be able to do so if they caught them in the open. Eagles don't enter chicken enclosures as they are generally not able to escape them. The pens are not large enough for the eagles to spread their wings to fly out. Even if they are, the eagles are too cautious and think it is a trap.
Perhaps we are just too lazy to conceive and "unkindness" of anything but Biden supporters. Only an academic would come up with an Unkindness of animals.
