My words posted on January 29th as I ranted on. A prime example of being careful for what you wish for. You have no idea how it could affect someone else be it good or bad.
A week or so, prior to Christmas 2006, people in Denver, CO wondered if they would have a "White Christmas". Well, what happened was a full-blown wrap-around blizzard happened the week before Christmas. Wrap-around meaning the blizzard started out in the Rockies, went over the Denver metro area and into the Plains, made a "U" turn and went back into the Rockies. Some 6 feet of snow dropped with very high snow drifts. Denver was almost completely closed down and a "snow day" was called for where wife and I worked. "Snow Day" meaning closures for many businesses and employees paid for the day off. This blizzard was called The Holiday Blizzard, because it was so close to Christmas Day. It is in The Weather Channel's archives of blizzards. My Director/Supervisor at work told me "guess folks here will watch what they wish for next time".
Actually, there's no such thing as an unanswered prayer. "No" is an answer, too. When I was 18 and wanted people (ok, ok, mostly the guys checking ID's at bars) to think I was 21, I prayed to look older. It took a while, but boy, was that prayer answered 50 years later. Too bad I didn't put an expiration date on the prayer...…...
