    I enjoy reading historical fiction but so many authors use modern expressions, which spoil the authenticity. Obviously you don't expect them to use the language of the time, but they should take the trouble to consider the words they use.
    Also American authors need to do a bit of research before writing a story set in Britain. There are many cultural differences between the two.
