No problem and if it was I am a nobody here to say anything about it. I have derailed and hijacked more threads than anyone here. I saw an opportunity for comedy and I couldn't resist.
Having watched numerous Pirogi "Scammer Payback" videos, I have new insights about how easy it is to access other people's computers. I am now more leery of just about everyone. I have a VPN. Right now, I appear to be in New Jersey, but I can change it at any time to any country on earth.
Theoretically, this is true. However, anyone can get any such information if the "keeper" of the information wants to volunteer it, whether openly or secretly. In an era of so many institutions -- and people -- in all quarters flouting the Constitution and laws, I would view the statement with a jaundiced eye. Just my opinion, of course. YMMV.
Go into Bing or Google and type in, without the quotation marks, "show my current address" or "where am I located" and see how close it comes. Although my ISP is not located in Millinocket, it shows me in Millinocket.
That has shown me as far away as 80 miles north of here. Right now it shows as 50 miles east. I'm on Verizon wireless internet. I don't know if this shows the nearest server hop or what. I do not Share My Location. As Michelle said, a VPN is your best bet, but I understand that there is still a concern over what some of them do with out data.
