Omnibus bills should be outlawed. Bills should be passed or not based on the merits, or lack thereof, of every issue addressed. If that were done, it would go a long way to straightening out our government. Back to Canada, Trudeau has indicated that he has no intention of stepping down, so who knows what will happen next. He will be reshuffling his cabinet next week.
Interesting view from North of the border: Calm, rational, reasonable, but I think even these ladies seem to want a deal wildly favorable to Canada. Listening to it I kept thinking "What's in it for us?" in the U.S. It's still like letting us borrow their broken down car on Sunday while we buy them another one and fix their leaky roof, stopped up plumbing, and shorting wiring buying their kids new school clothes and feeding them. Trump needs to hang in there playing hardball.
I already have some disagreements with Trump and his cabinet, although I'm very glad Harris lost, and Trump won, although I don't agree with some of his programs or some he chose to be in his cabinet.
We'll have to see how it plays out. I don't expect to get everything I want from one election. I've never cared for the abuse of H1B and L1 visas to soak up jobs within the US. A huge handout to corporations that keeps compensation low for Americans and distorts the culture of hub areas like Silicon Valley. The culture changes feel even worse than the employment problem these days. These aren't "immigrants" - or meant to be. Subsidized air flights keeps them tied to home countries, another way that the ol' "melting pot" can't do its job.
From what I've read, it went from all illegals must go, to most are staying, plus more being brought in. If this happens, we will soon be a third world nation of clashing values, laws and cultures, or should I say intensified clashes of cultures, values and laws.
I do not think that we have too many Canadians here, either legally or illegally, and i really do not have a problem with them being here, and I do not think that President Trump does either. You are still talking about Canadians, correct ?
I was speaking more generally about the work visas, which seems to be where some people are breaking with Musk due to his support for the programs. I see this as a wedge the left is hammering in hard right now.
It was Vivek who originally caused the issue, Elon backed him up, then backed off due to Trump weighing in on the issue. It is a very complicated issue, and not as easily explained as it seems.
Yvonne I'm not talking about Canadian's. I'm talking about the 10's of millions of illegals and new HIB Vesa's Musk wants to join them. Then again don't know why I care since there is nothing, I can do about anything anyway,
Time will tell who leaves and who arrives. I just feel for the American children who will be the biggest losers in this plan. It won't affect us that much because we won't be here that much longer, but the young will. We already have AI taking away jobs, as it is, and since Elon thinks America's youth are ignorant dumbasses unlike third world geniuses, he wants to bring in.
So guess I'm the fall guy here, that's ok, I do have a record of being highjacker and quilty as charged. I'll stop it.
