@Cody Fousnaugh ..honey child. Your goat rope'n days are over. Hang up the hat, bury your boots - except for rodeo days...and move on.
@Cody Fousnaugh I'm sorry you were disappointed. I know how it feels to have a vision of what you want life to be around you and then it just isn't . The only way to accomplish it, is to buy some acreage of your own and create your own mini-version of your dream. Unfortunately, this takes more money than what most of us have. I realize a job without a commute would be difficult for your wife, but it seems to me you may want to look at some smaller towns that barely show up on a map. Usually, little towns in rural areas are less likely to be so progressive. Rent would be more affordable as well.
OK, so you made this decision because of what you saw?..or what?..in just one small area? ..or why did you decide it wasn't for you after all? Have you started thinking of new places now?
. Oh, Holly... it was those awful clerks in the western wear store who had the nerve to wear contemporary clothing like the rest of the world.
Or perhaps it was the people at the mall there who he thinks gave him "several odd looks" because he was wearing a black cowboy hat. I would think unless there was a large multi-colored parrot sitting on top of that hat, nobody is going to even notice someone wearing a cowboy hat in Cheyenne. Y'know, we'd all worry a lot less about what total strangers think about us if we'd just realize how seldom they DO think about us. Short of striding in, spurs a-janglin', draggin' a saddle behind you, twirling a lasso over your head and shouting "YEE HAW! GIT ALONG LITTLE DOGIES!", I can't imagine anyone would even notice you.
Now hold on, just a dadgum minute, this is good stuff. I recently finished a book, "The Green Mile" and this "Fausnaugh Saga" is much better. It's the real McCoy and besides it has a sub-plots or two. You couldn't make this stuff up. I often sign on here just to catch up on the story. The only thing, I'm hoping it has a happy ending, otherwise I'm going to be disappointed, but it much too early to think about an ending. This is not going to be some short non-shu-lot, mickey mouse story, this is what's happening, right now, up in the cold winter of Colorado.
Well, we are going to see just how "cowboy" related Loveland here is, this coming Saturday when we attend Cowboy Church down the street from where we live. The sign actually reads Cowboy Church Saturday Night 6PM in the front of a building.
I've been reading about the bitterly cold front that is bringing blizzard conditions to parts of the US. I thought about Cody then. How cold is it there, Cody? How deep is the snow now? Are happy that you moved there? Are you looking forward to more and more snow? The cold front is reaching here now. My son called while ago and said he saw some mushy snowflakes on his windshield.
It was a beautiful day and out of nowhere around 4 pm a cold gust of wind blew in the window. I thought the AC had come on or something. It was the fastest moving cold front ever. Within 5 minutes, everything changed. Must be a powerful one.
He's totally unhappy, he moved there... now he's got to find somewhere else..and Cheyenne ain't gonna be that place now... so the hunt is on again for Cowboy Heaven....
