Yep drastic situations call for drastic measures, I put on a pair of leggings type pants, better hot than itchy. The wetter the better. Drown the little suckers.

So far they are not active must be night owls.

Also a shot of Crown made them calm down and another half shot knocked em out. Now I'll have my last 1/2 shot and forget they ever existed. Cheers

Having heard the word but having never seen a chigger, I had to find a picture. It looks like they're basically small ticks.

Some people call them 'red bugs' too. I don't think I ever had them till last year. Hubby doesn't get hardly any bites and he is in the yard all the time, so it must be something about me they really go for lately. When we were in the marches near the coast hubby would get really tore up by what some call 'no see'ems'. He'd get big bumps on his head yet none bit me.

I have scars on my legs this year because the chigger bites turn to blisters that itch horribly. I, of course, ripped them open before I started spraying my ankles with bug spray which helps a lot. I also spray a long sleeved overshirt to avoid ticks and wear my mosquito hat. I am so sexy in the summer.

My goodness bug spray? I do understand though. Mary, sorry about your scars. I use sulfur powder on my pants. I think they are slowing down now.

I don't have the chigger issue but dealing with some itchy skin and thru a lot of research and talking to a pharmacist, I'm back to taking 10K Vit A daily. It's critical and so many don't realize this. I was taking a Vit A with my Vit D dosing but when my D levels got in a good place, I backed off, so now hearing about the Vit A importance...for skin, itchy issues and more....

Become aware of the Vit A importance....

A suggestion for my issue is diluting apple cider vinegar and dipping in cotton and dabbing on the skin but I'm attacking my issue from the inside of my body, Vit A.

Thank you Joy I'll see if I can find some, also I just had carrots for lunch.
So far only one bite last couple days and that may be ,mosquito. Then again I don't dare go into the yard ,it's too hot anyway. I'll try the vinegar, so far I wipe my arms and legs with half lemon to stop the dogs from licking me. It's funny to see how they act once they lick my lemon skin.
