@Denise Happyfeet Love that mirror above with the 'green' trim
Don't like rooms too dark though unless its really huge and can take it
Neutral walls and colour accessories for me :p
@Holly Saunders - we have very similar taste there Holly, when we re-did our lounge recently, Paul painted the fireplace a bronzy black
with silver trim - red and silver ornaments dotted about
We do like a bit of 'ethnic' too :)

It does - we have a lovely ethnic floor standing vase near to the fireplace too which sets everything off well

I think we've all been there Patsy, I know I have. Either procrastinating, too busy with other things;) I always find the timing was just right though, no "should of's" ;)

That's true - I've waited a long time for the 'timing' to be right :p
I always found when you are looking for specifics, you can never find them - this changed for us this time :)

In picking your colors I like of course the greens and blues as they do have a restful calming effect. Painting walls can be an easy chore or turn out a little less then what was planned. When in Florida, I wanted to paint my kitchen walls mauve and brought what I thought was this color (at top left) but came out looking like pink. I said to my husband it's mauve as I was painting it on but when it was dry it was pink.
When I moved to Pennsylvania, one of my apartments had white walls in the long sweeping hallway and I ask the landlord if I could paint it a cool med green. It turned out good except for up near the ceilings it showed the brush strokes where the roller could not safely reach. But the rest of it was nice and I did get my deposit back. lol

Nice Sandy;) I know that colors can look so different once they are applied. And depending on how large the area is too. My X laid floor-coverings/carpet, and a small swatch of carpet looked one way to his customers, and some were shocked when they saw it installed a their home.

I'll probably do mostly photo prints of my own photography, and leave the walls alone here. Unless I try for that material that I think it was Holly's suggestion. Can't remember who mentioned it now;) We'll see. I think both those colors are gorgeous, and it really can be amazing when you add accent items/colors as well;)
