I did do that Bonnie, I have his address and phone number, just don't want to invade his privacy.

Understand. .... maybe a card via the mail about concern and well being?
He said he had a daughter nearby - she could maybe shed some light if a note was sent.
The mail is the least invasive.

I can do that, hopefully the address I have is current. Ok, will do that. Even if I called he might not pick up since I'm not a known number to him.

Wonder if I should put my return address as Chrissy Page, or even SeniorsClubOnly, so if he does get it he doesn't toss it.

Including the board name would be my choice I think.. it's up to you.
.. with a link to the board if it was his daughter who received it.

I still haven't heard from him, and don't expect to, although I hope he'll be back in the forum, as I miss his posts. I wasn't married until I was 48 and when I got a week off once, which hadn't happened in years, I went camping by myself and was cut off from everyone and everything. When I returned, I was a little surprised to find that people were worried about me, since it's not like I made a habit of calling people or visiting.

I don't just think he left the forum, he left everything online. I can see someone leaving a forum for many reasons and many do. I think it's just the combination of all things that we are concerned.

Sending a card in the mail seems harmless no matter what happens on the other end.

I remember years back trying to find my father's family .....sent several notes to people with the same name as his.
Of 25 messages sent, I got back 7 "sorry, not me" type of notes. I was surprised at that big of a response. Surprised they weren't all just thrown away! Some people are nice.:)
One in particular I remember, it was from a pastor in CT. ... he wrote me a nice letter and wished me well in my search.
So you never know what response you could get! ... like the message in a bottle thing .....
(My search did have a good ending, but it came on the Internet.)

Also he'd been very unwell the day before he stopped posting.. extremely unwell where he'd blacked out... I think something has gone even more wrong with his health and he may be in hospital... :(

Yes, that's a possibility. Hopefully if that's the case, whoever is getting his mail will give me a reply.

Okay, I bought the card, it's the best I could find that fit without going to another store, plus the elephant caught my eye. Here is what it looks like, inside and out. I'll write inside and then mail it. I'm going to sign my name and all your friends at SO, everyone ok with this?
