I have only had one picture not post upright here when I upload it, Kate, so I'm not of much value on this subject. I run my pics through photo editing software to shrink the resolution (640 x 480) so the file size is way smaller. I don't know if that makes a "displays without error" difference or not. Perhaps the ratio (height vs width) of some pics causes display issues and the software flips things 90°.

edit to add: I see Ken's response. It seems a too-wide-to-fit pic gets flipped. Makes sense.

Love seeing the stratification and color in your pix. You are my favorite Aussie tour guide, Kate!

They are only taken with my apple phone @Mary Stetler

The poor old camera rarely sees the light of day now days , I use a mini iPad when traveling for taking photos and the phone when out exercising/ walking.

I don’t like posting to many photos…. so to bore everyone

This is NYE at the town about 20 Km from where we live , it was where the copper mined in the area was smelted/ shipped out

This town is also a grain shipping port for all the grain that’s grown in our area
It’s a really deep water port and on a very rare occasion we have a a cruise ship call into the area ,

There is a ferry that only operates in warmer months due to gale force winds that will take you from Yorke Peninsula to Eyre Peninsula area.

Most of the smelting works has now been covered and is being used for housing ( the stacks shows a little of remains of smelting works )

This is also the main port for finishing boats and some of the best prawns in Aust are netted in this area 437481CF-F5EA-40DC-AA94-E047AD75F8E0.jpeg

    The ferry
Spencer Gulf Searoad offers vehicle and passenger ferry transfers across the Spencer Gulf, between Yorke Peninsula and Lucky Bay (near Cowell) on the Eyre Peninsula.
    Cowell …..is pronounced COW

Not boring to me. The vegetation and surroundings are nothing like my little farm.

We’ve just had 3 inches of rain in 2 days ….we normally get excited if we get 1/4 of a inch …of rain , got out for a walk yesterday
altho the rain didn’t teem down over those 2 days it was impossible to get out it was very “ wetting rain “

Took a few snaps on our 3 km walk yesterday .
