Yes, Babs, I know. But, to a point, you really do sound like your telling others what to do.

I don’t like cussing and those words used concerning my Lord and my Faith, but there’s really nothing that can be done about it. Just the way the world has been and will continue being.

You have a right to your beliefs Cody but I believe that nothing changes if nothing is asked to change. And sometimes even asking doesn't do any good but for sure nothing will ever change if people don't stand up and ask for it. :) And Cody, don't tell me what I have to believe and accept just because you think that's the way it is.

Well If I hurt your feelings @Babs Hunt it was totally unintentional, and I apologise but without turning this into any kind of religious debate...even you surely have to admit there's a lot of people who are supposed practising Christians, who do sin all week and expect to go to church, confess, and think they can continue to break the Commandments.. ....that's not to say all Christians are the same, but it's so obvious that many do.. not even the most fervently religious person could deny it...

However, I'm not going to walk around on eggshells on here , in case I hurt someone's feelings unintentionally...

Sorry, Babs. Wasn’t trying to do that....tell you what to accept and believe in.
However, I think Holly is 100% right about not walking on eggshells.

I don’t mean to “offend” either, but there are times it just happens. People cuss and I seriously doubt there is anything that be done about it. The more people complain about it, the more people will say “I’ll do what I want”.

I don't expect you to walk on eggshells Holly or apologize. There are no perfect, sinless Christians on this earth, and some of us probably shouldn't even call ourselves Christians. But many of us Christians do our best to follow Christ's example and not the world's...even so we can't do that perfectly either. We're a work in progress but the only perfect one is our Jesus...who according to the Bible we believe in...wants to be everyone's Jesus. I just wanted to let y'all know that I am a Christian and that I can not just stand back when Jesus our Savior and God our Father is disrespected and mocked. It's not about cussing here...some of these posts were just outright mockery of what is sacred and Holy to Christians. I would hope all Christians would stand up and ask people to please not do that. I'm glad I spoke up and let y'all know some of these posts hurt my heart as a Christian and asked y'all to please consider keeping things respectful. I'm not looking for apologies, etc....only consideration of what I have said and asked.

But everybody believes something different @Babs Hunt. Especially when it comes to religion. Even though I'm not even really a Catholic anymore, Catholicism has been mocked on here a lot, even the pope and to a degree that offends me still.

To you Jesus Christ means everything but to others it's just a name or a figure in history.

Yes I know this Chrissy but if you told me that I had made your heart hurt and why I can absolutely tell you that I would say I was sorry and try never to do that again whether it be here on this Forum or anywhere else. You and I have come a long way with some apologies along the way and some reconsideration for our different beliefs. And now I like to think we are friends with quite a bit in common such as our love for our families and grandkids. :)

It's right to stand up for what you believe in and ask for people to be respectful of that when you feel they aren't being that way.

All you can do is ask and that's what I did. Nobody owes me an apology and I certainly can't make anyone stop saying anything they want here. But I can ask and I have.

I think sometimes in our fervor to be right or have the last word we forget there is a person behind the post who feels strongly about something and may be hurt by our words.

I will try not to offend. I'm not perfect though...

I think that this has turned into a good discussion, and no one has been out of line. I paused at the bathtub photo and considered whether I should allow it, because I just don't like things to go there, but decided it wasn't obscene in any actionable way.

This has turned into a good discussion because this is precisely what makes people more aware of how words can effect others. Babs was well within her rights to let us know what she finds objectionable, particularly since she wasn't telling anyone to stop, and I'm glad when someone does that. She was letting us know how it effects her, and I don't know why that would not be worthy of consideration.

My heart hurts when I see or hear of many of the things that people do, but if they are not illegal, there isn't much I can do about it. I have a little more to say about what is posted here in this forum, but I can't say that anyone has crossed the line yet.

Problems occur when someone just doesn't care how anyone else feels, but I don't see that here.

You know what...when life throws me a curve ball, or when the time comes for swearing, I say phooey!!! I said the "S" word too, when usually the situation is a surprise! (quietly of course:D) Or I'd use the "D" word, but never the Lord's name with it; just the "D" word of "DI"! I try to say it as quietly as possible too, I don't know why, but I swear very quietly just over a whisper. We are all human, so when the unpleasant things happen we got to get over it, so we swear, is what I believe so it helps us move on. Though, vulgarity of the other words, is sometimes very difficult to hear, I hear it very rarely here on Oahu where we got all the different nationalities, all the different religions all blossoming at once. Another word I'd use is, darn or darn it! Many are married and their wife or child is in tow with them, too, so it's good for it keeps everyone in a language that's friendlier even when life gives you a little curve ballo_O in public, heaven forbid. By the way, when it's a big curve ball, I'd say "DI" 3x. :D
