Thanks but I'm ok with my years of pendulum work, her name is RoseAnn... Lots of wiseinhimers out there..... Oh and I'm most likely going to pass on the "shot"....
Yeah, but @Mary Stetler’s quarter has George Washington on it and we know that he couldn’t lie. He said so. . I’d trust him. Oh, and if ya use a penny, Honest Abe might offer up some good advice. Either way, it is as I wrote that I absolutely abhorre the idea of someone poking me with a needle but I allowed it many years ago and I haven’t had a knee problem since. If perchance I do have another problem, I’ll opt for the shot rather than a replacement if it is at all possible.
Well since I posted this, knee is not improving....things have gotten tougher for me. No more cutting on me either. This Nooro Knee Massager came to my mail today and I'm looking at it, not too pricey. Anyone want to look at it and make a comment)s). I just posed 2 questions about it with Rose Ann: 1. Should I consider the Nooro Knee Massager? Got a Yes 2. Should I buy the Nooro Knee Massager? Got a Yes And yep, everyone is trying to sell us on their fixes ...
It looks to me like it could help an arthritic knee, @Joy Martin . (I replaced that lengthy link with a picture) I see that Amazon has them on sale right now, regularly about $200, now on sale for $139 for the one like this that does everything, and about $100 for ones without the infrared. It seems to me like the infrared would be worth the extra price. Let us know how well it works once you have yours, please !
Well, I’m one of the knee replacement success stories. I had both knees replaced at the same time in 2012 at 55. I was home in 9 days, able to go up a flight of stairs on my own. Prior to the surgery I was leg pressing 400 pounds at the gym. That’s what got me home so fast.
That is amazing that you have had such success and doing that much weight damage to your knees. My damage is years of dancing and then the replacement of hip and losing inches from my body that caused the knee to be so messed up and then a "cleanout " from UCLA which was not a success, t hey cleaned out any cartlidge that was there... I'll probably buy it from the company as they stand behind it and already sent me a discount code///
I hope you find some relief. I know how painful it is. Actually, the damage to my knees was done when I was younger and ran, also a family history of bad knees. My weight lifting is what kept me going and allowed me to get home from surgery so quickly. The strong leg muscles took over for the bad knees, to some extent.
I might have written this before but, One of the more senior trainers (Jim) at the gym we go to had both knees replaced at the same time and a month later he took his vacation and went to Colorado to go rock climbing. A funny thing about it though was before he had the job done he was shorter than I but afterward, because he was no longer bow legged, he was taller than I. Jim is retired now to a small extent. He doesn’t work at the gym any longer but instead, he comes in two days a week to teach Yoga.
A friend sent this info today on IRAP injections. There is info online on IRAP and it's known too that some animals and humans are given the same meds... Btw, an old acquaintance who lives in the inland empire area of LA keeps swearing by a product for joint problems called IRAP. (The I stands for interleuken). They use this for horses and that's how he knows of it... "Jay" fussed at me on a text recently, saying to stop doing PT and find a doctor to administer 3 shots of this stuff. (It ISN'T the synvisc stuff they also inject in joints). I haven't had time to do a 'deep dive' to research this online, but I want to.
My friend has been suffering for years with a bad knee after a fall and was afraid of pain in recuperation so put off doing anything about it. Up in Green Bay she found a doctor who does knee resurfacing instead of replacement. We have high hopes for her surgery in February.
Dunno about just knee replacements but in the United States, 2.8 million folks had hip and/or knee replacements in ‘22. ‘23 isn’t over yet but I imagine there’s probably more this year than last. Yvonne’s oldest son just had his shoulder replaced last Monday.
