New Years Eve we had a slight snow drop of 30cms of the white stuff which is 12 inches..
Wasn't that cold at -10c during the storm, but as soon as it stopped snowing, the temperature dropped down to -29c and the wind-chill was -36c.....
Today was mild again at -21c but nice and sunny.....

These scenes were shot in November of (1 think) 2010, and we've had no snoe since then! (Note the deliberate misspelling of snow)

I received this notice from Environment Canada Weather ......

    Alerts in Effect
    Extreme Cold Warning
    Issued at 04:38 Monday 28 January 2019

Extreme cold winds chills this morning.

Extreme wind chills of minus 50 to minus 60 will continue early this morning before cloud cover develops this morning, helping to moderate temperatures into this afternoon.

Cloud cover and milder temperatures tonight will prevent wind chills from falling to warning criteria.

However, below seasonal temperatures will continue over Northern Ontario through the rest of the week, with wind chill values once again falling to the minus 40 to minus 55 range over areas northwest of Lake Superior and to the minus 45 to 50 range over areas east of Lake Superior.

    ###

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
