Now a group in Modesto, California want to put on a Straight Pride Parade/Day. Opposition from the GLBTQ organizations are coming in again and saying that there children will be messed up even more. My feelings, FAIR IS FAIR, let the heterosexual men/women have their parade and day!
My life’s ambition is to tell everyone what sex I am, find some like minded people who have nothing better to do and then have a parade just to show everyone how proud I am to be that sex. Jeez..... My wife knows what sex I am, the area I live in knows what kind of a man I am and God knows my heart. No one else needs to know anything more than that.
Actually, I think what's going on with this Straight Pride Parade thing is...……...they simply want others to know that there are straight men/women out there and they are proud to be that way, just as the gay folks are proud to be the way they are. The Straight Pride people just may think that the gay community is pushing way to hard to be accepted. IOW, basically speaking, I really don't know what the heck is going on with this!!
What grinds my gears is that it seems that folks keep complaining about the minimum wage and not having work but yet people find time to go out into the streets and protest, wreck stuff and now, show everyone how proud they are about what sex they are. To me, if a person wishes to show how straight they are, go to work, get married, have kids, let ‘em grow up in a good home, send them off to college or wherever and then be proud that they made it past the diaper stage. Heck, if they’re going to have a parade, why not make it a, “I raised my kids” parade. It would sure show a lot more character than telling everyone what a person does with that thing located 5” or so below the belt line.
Heterosexuals have not endured systematic hatred, oppression and persecution like non-heterosexual minorities have. Gay Pride Parades are celebrated openly to acknowledge this past and what has been overcome and has yet to be overcome. When straight people suffer fear and anxiety when in public, an upbringing full of shame and psychological abuse, uncertainty about whether the rights you’ve gained will be taken away then by all means, celebrate straight pride. Until then, it seems to be a pugnacious movement by angry people with limited understanding.
I have gay friends and in this context I agree. I just don't think dressing up like a porn clown actually gains any respect for the movement. It really cheapens LGBTQ people and is an embarrasment for many of them. The want respect and acceptance, not to be viewed as a cartoon.
By the fact there are people populating the cities and towns I think people already know straight people are out there... I mean, it's not like it's a secret
If you're a good person, people will be proud of you. If by being proud, we've got to parade ourselves, I can think of many much better options
Unfortunately all of us Straight folk's are the ones who brought them into the world . They could not multipy on their own Sooo much I could say but I won't
Straight pride parades: Straight from the slammer pride parade Straighten your tie pride parade Straight hair pride! parade Sitting up straight pride parade Straight up my ally pride parade Damn straight pride parade
To think about it a bit further, there’s something amiss in nearly all of the thinking. Heterosexuality or Homosexuality both denote which gender one prefers to have sex with. Now, with that in mind, is it not one’s sexual partner the one who makes the decision as to how proud one can be concerning one’s ability to uh...please the other? To be serious, LGBTQ or straight is all about partnership preference and very little else.
I personally don't care if someone chooses to have a relationship with their pet goat within the privacy of their own house. I just don't want to hear about it, pay for the fall out or watch it advertised on a flatbed truck rolling in front of my house.
