Just another way to negate real accomplishments...like redistributing the income of high achievers so as to stifle incentives.
I don't get the problem. If a movie calls for an actorof a certain persuasion, then use that actor. I highly doubt that there is much racism that goes into awards voting. Good acting is good acting. Movies and actors,are dependent upon marketing. I have seen great movies that did not get so much as a nod from the award committees, so any great performances by any actor would go unheralded jut due to the medium. This to me is a first world problem that IMHO doesn't rate a lot of concern!
I'm still being chagrined that I posted something that says "a Oscar." They are going to revoke my Grammar Nazi badge.
It just hearkens back to "affirmative action," IMO. Not considering the actual talent; just indiscriminately awarding minority status. And I agree that any awards show for overblown egos is the least of my worries these days.
