My apartment is at this moment being vacumed & dusted, kitchenette & bathroom cleaned, my laundry is being washed and will be dried, folded and put away. Laundry is usually done for me on Wednesday but the care giver wanted to do it today These services are paid for by my monthly rent.

Yes, I do. I think persons would quit if they came to do any of those tasks at my house. I'd be on them like a bee to a flower for honey. :D

There's no way but my way.

Dang,Lon for the amount you pay,I think I would expect a little "personal" service once a week or or so! Between the two of us our house gets cleaned. After 40 years we have fallen into our own roles. I do most of the cooking, floor maintenance, outside chores. She does laundry dishes and dusting. We help each other out with the "personal"

Yes, I do my own cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. I'm not as enthusiastic as I used to be but I usually get "a round tuit." :D

I'm a do it yourself-er for most things. I like the satisfaction of completing a task.

Janet and I split things up, automatically, no real discussions on who does what. I like doing lots of chores, and running around to do shopping, together, is a social activity for us. I don't believe I'd ever want anyone doing my cleaning or other housekeeping tasks. That may change as I get older.

This is about how it works at our house, too. Whoever first notices that something needs done, just does it. Sometimes I start the laundry, sometimes Bobby does, and the same with taking it out of the dryer and folding it.
This is how I grew up, too; because my mom and dad did the same thing, and shared the household chores for the most part.

Because Bobby is tall (and strong) he does the things that need a tall person (changing light bulbs) or a strong one (hauling out the garbage can , and I am usually the one who does the little things like making sure we have toilet paper on the roller.

We also shop together, and it is a social activity for us, as well. Bobby and I enjoy different foods, and often eat different meals, and not always at the same time; so everything is pretty simple and comfortable around our house.

Ever since I left my last job in 2007, I do the laundry, load-run-unload dishwasher, do the laundry and most of the cooking (when cooking is done). We both do the floors (sweep/mop). We always shop together and eat at the same time.

My SIL (wife's sister) has a lady come in to clean her condo. She's got the money, so. She loves traveling to see her grandkids, so she's not home much and likes it just that way. She cooks very little-to-not at all. Ever since her husband died, she feels very, very free and absolutely loves it.

I generally do the dishes and the laundry, and my wife does the cleaning upstairs while I do the cleaning downstairs, although our standards there might vary. My wife is supposed to put the dishes away because I leave them in a rack, but she rarely does. For that matter, I often have to dig clothes out of the hamper because she hasn't put them away yet. She sometimes pays someone to do her part of the cleaning too.

In other words, I am badly in need of a new wife. I think mine's broken. Maybe I'll look into one of those wife grooming services from another thread.
