It is already to the point that just reding the New Testament can be considered an act of hate and get you put in prison under this new hate crime law Trump enaxted.
    I know that makes Trump supporters mad but the truth is the truth.{We both voted for Trump btw.}

But the new Anti-Semetic hate crime law can be used at any time against us. And just because you go beat your head on a wall dose not make you a Jew. I'm for Israael our greatist ally but this is not the way to protect our interesst. Also Asset Forfeiture law is not anymore constitutional than the AntiSemetic one is. I just debate and vent since I know America is on its last leg and its on a banana peel now.

My degrees might make me qualified to tell you about genetics, Marie. But I'm not touting degrees, just answering your statement to me.

    So, as to your statements.

    1. Please show me where my "theory about race" has been proven false.

    2. I'd like you to please show me credible sources to support your idea that the liberal agenda hurts those they claim to defend. You may not like the agenda, but please back your statements with something. And also please give me examples as I don't know what you're referring to.

    3. I'd like you to please show me credible sources to support your idea that liberals attack only White Christians.

    4. Who in the world considers math to be racist? Where did that come from? What does it even mean?

    5. I have absolutely no problem with telling history the way that it was and that includes the sale of people into slavery in Africa. I think you'll find that a good many liberals believe that history should be told as it was, not as written by the conquerors

    6. I'm certainly not asking you to hate yourself or your ancestors; I'd simply like history to be taught from all aspects.

    7. What does wanting to be told that their children look like them have anything to do with this discussion?

You seem to me to be all over the place, Marie; I can't follow you. Would you please slow down, explain what you're talking about, and give concrete examples? Thank you.

I don't know of any place in our country where one can be put in prison for reading the New Testament.
Being a member Kairos a few years ago, I visited several prisons and helped conduct bible classes there - such places as Keen Mt. and Essex I in Va.

Lee Malvo was in Essex II at that time, but we weren't allowed in there, because only ordained ministers were allowed to talk to death row inmates in that prison. Remember him? Since he was so young and only did what his leader said to do, he was later given a life sentence, I believe.

So, if you can give any proof otherwise, please do.

Most of the questions you ask, here and elsewhere in this thread, seem to be make-work, intended to exhaust anyone who disagrees with you. The answers are easily obtained through a simple search, or in a dictionary, for that matter, which you could do for yourself, if you were truly interested. You may agree or disagree, as you please, but don't demand that others do your homework for you. That just disrupts conversation.

"Jewish" refers to a religion, an ethnicity, or a culture.

    Merriam Webster defines "race" as...

    race noun (1)
    Save Word

    \ ˈrās \
    plural races
Definition of race (Entry 1 of 3)
1a see usage paragraph below : any one of the groups that humans are often divided into based on physical traits regarded as common among people of shared ancestry...

also : the fact of dividing people, or of people being divided, into such groups : categorization by race...

dated : a group of people sharing a common cultural, geographical, linguistic, or religious origin or background

I know what the words mean, Ken. :) I'm not looking to make others work; I'm looking to ask people who make statements no examples and with nothing to back them up to provide us with same. Per the definition you gave --I know what Jews are considered per dictionaries and encyclopedia; however, Marie made statements that were, in my opinion, over the top and which had no basis in reality. I'm asking her to think about what she's saying before she calls Jews a race and before she makes other statements like the New Testament one that Hugh questioned and for which he's asking for proof, and about the other statements I questioned.

As for what race is, here's what Scientific American has to say on the subject:

"Race Is a Social Construct, Scientists Argue"

"Today, the mainstream belief among scientists is that race is a social construct without biological meaning."

Why do you care so much what other people think about something? In a discussion, I am more interested in what the person I am talking to thinks. Demands for citations are invariably make-work and distractions because the person demanding a citation will simply discount any source that disagrees with whatever side of an issue they have taken. Having been lied to by scientists daily for the past couple of years, their opinions don't decide an issue for me, and they are unlikely to for anyone else who disagrees with whatever it is that they're saying. Science is mostly political. In a real-life, how long would a conversation last if one person in the conversation demanded sources for everything that the other person was saying, as if their own words aren't worth beans?

We must float in different groups, Ken. :) When I'm with people in real life who are discussing important or controversial issues, no one just spews stuff with nothing to back it up. If they did, they wouldn't last long. We all expect people to say the equivalent of, "This is what I believe and this is the reason I believe it." Then, there's something to discuss on the merits. People's words are worth more than beans; we just expect them to have reasons for their words.

I was debating while cleaning and cooking so sorry if I was short but I disagree with your point about history far as slavery goes, If I'm was good in any of my studies it was history.
America nor its writers wasn't even around when the slave trade was at it pentacle.
By the time we settled america Africa had sold its people all over the world.First slaves come to American Continent was on ships from Portugal deleivered to S,America, then the Spanish brought them to what was later known as America or The United States of America.
Butthen that is not a convinant truth so not well known.
This division is good for one thing that is divide and conquur all Americans. I don'tthink any of us want to go back to our plaaces of origin minority or caucasion.

Would the word tribe be a better term? I don't recall any leaders or important rabis in Israel being from Africa,Asia or S.America.
Why not since race is not important?

Have you read the bill ? Last year it was being discussed in detail. Read over this thread and see how it makes you feel about me.Do you feel like II'm racist or anti semetic? That is because any discussion on the subject that doesn't go along with agenda will make the person look prejudice who questions anything about the half truths and sometimes even lies about the facts.
It also maakes those who don't agree with everyting look bad.
I haven't seen anyone refute my slavery claims about the subject ,why not?

I guess so, because I have never once, in the middle of a conversation, demanded citations from people who were simply trying to have a conversation. As I said, any sources that are cited in response to demands in forum discussions are promptly dismissed by the person demanding the citation, just as you summarily dismissed the dictionary definition of the word under discussion in favor of a magazine article that suggested an alternate definition that you agreed with. When I have reason to believe that the person I am in conversation with is actually interested in anything other than their own side of the conversation, I don't mind, but it's a waste of my time otherwise. The list of citations you demanded in this thread could be easily answered by a simple search but, rather than doing that yourself, you decided to assign your homework to someone else.

I'm sorry if I had anything to do with tempers apparently flaring, so I'm out of this discussion. I only wanted to answer the question of the OP.

It does not look like it was anything that you said that made Marie feel like she was being attacked for what she wanted to say. She was doing the same as you, and trying to explain what she thought, which is what a discussion is all about.
Please do not feel that you should leave the discussion.
As far as I can remember, you have never had anything to do with starting an argument of any kind, or a personal attack on another person; but some people cannot seem to even understand what an actual discussion is, and start demanding proof of whatever anyone presents as their opinion .

This forum is a discussion forum, and to my way of thinking; if all a person wants is verification of facts, they should just use the encyclopedia. Someone who is a teacher should know that. Thankfully, Ken is trying to explain to Joyce what a discussion forum is about.
It is not just Marie that she has been treating this unkindly.
