We have a comfortable retirement income, which takes care of us without having to make withdrawals from savings. The only items we have to put aside for are Property Tax, Auto, and Homeowners Insurance, but we get a tax refund every year anyway, which covers those expenses. We could have been like those who "barely scrape by" during retirement, but I didn't plan my retirement to be lived that way 36 years ago when I began to provide for it. I've got more disposable income now than I did when I was fully employed in the Aerospace Industry. It's all in the planning, my friends! Hal
