Every bill that arrives in my mailbox is paid with a Check! EVERY SINGLE ONE! And I refuse to use those stupid DEBIT CARDS when making purchases! Hal
We pay all our bills electronically by direct debit from our bank. Everything else by credit card. We very rarely use cash. Checks haven’t been used at all in Sweden for at least the last 25 years.
I pay almost all bills now by credit card and write a check to pay the credit card bill. With covid around I rarely use cash anymore..
I make all my purchases with my Visa credit (NOT DEBIT) card, and pay my bills with good old Personal Checks! Harry
Just paid property taxes by check. They charge you 3% if you pay by credit card here. I don't blame them. They are probably charged a processing fee, similar to merchants, which depends on the particular card. The fee would have to come from taxpayer money.
I've never used direct debit, I either pay online or use the automated phone line most utility companies provide. I've never used my cheque book either, but it's there if I need it.
