I know quite a few people who have had knee replacements. They have all done well. Good luck with yours.
My wife's Mother, almost unable to walk further than 50 feet, in much pain, submitted to one hip replacement at age 88! I thought to myself then, "These Doctors are charlatans! How can they do this at such an advanced age"? Well, the surgeon "botched" it, cracked her Femur, a fact not known for several weeks after, at which time the crack was detected. She submitted to a second procedure, in which the too-large prosthesis was removed, her wound closed, and a long wait of one disconnected leg bone ensued, about 4 weeks. Opened again, a second joint prosthesis driven in they actually DO hammer it into the Femur!), she convalesced, began walking again, went home. Two months later, she fell in the living room, fracturing the OTHER hip! Same surgeon did this second (other side) replacement, she healed and went about driving around to her seniors meetings! The surgeon, was suffering from terminal cancer before she even encountered him, and died not long after her third surgery. Something must be said about a man having that kind of dedication. I have the only known mother in law who had three-legged hip replacements! Frank
