There is a city, Highlands Ranch, about 35 miles south/west of Denver that is holding a Drag Queen Comedy Show tonight. Here is what a group called Freedom Fathers is saying: Freedom Fathers is planning a prayer rally outside the show Friday. On their website, the conservative group said Highlands Ranch is "an area to raise a family and not a place to bring Denver culture and drag queens into our suburbs." Here is the entire article: Highlands Ranch group says it's received hateful messages for hosting drag comedy show (msn.com) Ok, what do we think? From living in the city we are, and being told by the "Old Timers" what has happened to this city, we totally understand the Freedom Fathers and other individuals that are protesting this. IOW, not everyone in every city wants something like this in their city.
Hummmmmm, this could be, but not saying it is, a controversial thread that some don't want to touch. One thing for sure, not everyone is "open minded" to this kind of thing. Want to give Freedom Fathers a lot of credit for trying to keep "big city" Denver culture out of Highlands Ranch. Numerous upper-class families do live there and it is a very "family oriented" city, that doesn't really need, or want, this kind of thing there.
