Yes, the OP had referenced Zero Hedge but after taking a look around, there are other sources that say pretty much the same thing. Frankly, it’s a stupid thing but I do not believe the digital ads are going to affect enlistment as much as the overall disinterest in all things military that is prevalent in today’s young men and women. As an example, one of the main draws is the expectation of getting a paid college education but with the free from risk Free education that the Government is still wrestling with, many of the would be enlistees are waiting in the wings to see what happens. In my opinion, so far as having a drag queen serve as a digital representative (influencer) won’t be the worst of it because the question of whether or not the American taxpayer will be strapped for paying for military personnel’s sex changes might actually happen. Added to that, if we are indeed going to be paying for transition surgeries among our military men, due to the frequency of dilations that have to occur post surgery for a couple of years, a trans value to the military is questionable. All that said, yes, we will still have great military people who are there for the right reasons. The question is, will we have enough of those great military people to do the job? Perchance to re-enact the draft?
Did ya see “Under Siege”? Remember the Exec. officer (what’s his name) entertaining the sailors by donning a female persona whilst the rest of the ship was being taken?
I do admire the drag queen's taste in clothes style. After all, one must look for the positive side of things, and there is always a positive side.
So I suppose none of this is actually real to you and the nation is alive and well and going strong. I guess I need to watch more mainstream news.
Ya gotta understand Dwight. Especially in light of what’s going on in this world of ours, if we take everything we read and hear seriously and personally, a lot of us would get angry and stressed out. Getting stressed makes us sick. Getting sick makes us weak. Getting weak makes us useless. Feeling useless makes us wanna roll over and die. Sometimes, when things are soooo damnably ridiculous, it’s best to find a way to laugh it off. For me, it’s imagining a 200 lb Navy chief complete with tats, a beard and very hairy legs wearing a female Navy blue’s skirt, heels and lip stick in formation.
A person should never suppose what another person's opinion is. I was stating my opinion, just as you were. Mutual respect is always welcomed.
How about Newsweek? https://www.newsweek.com/navy-drag-queen-harpy-daniels-digital-ambassador-debate-1798015 Laugh all you want; the story is sad but true.
I just ran across a FOX news bit about it and it was dated 2 days ago so yeah, it’s true. What somewhat astounded me about the interview was that it was inferred that someone could serve the Navy as a sailor and still be whatever on their own private time. I guess it goes back to @John Brunner’s statement about it being under the Biden administration because all military personnel belong to the Government and everything a military person does on or off duty has to represent the military and the United States Government. I’m sure Xi and Putin are having having a ball watching that ad. Heck, we might as well join ‘em because there ain’t nothing we can do about it except try to vote the woke mob out of office.
You're right. Apologies to you. I fly off the handle sometimes. It's my one and only character flaw. ... except I lie sometimes.
