Well I rode my horse today.A 13 yr old named Lilly (the staff calls her Lazy Lilly). Everything went great. I had no problem getting into the saddle or down. The ride was ambling and slow (Lilly is pretty lazy). My back hurts a little from sitting tall in the saddle. I'm normally a sloucher. I enjoyed brushing the horse and saddling it. I have a good rapport with animals and we got along fine. I steered her through an obstacle course but half the time she just went by herself without any nudging from me. I'll have pictures in a few days. It was the first time my friend Carol had used her camera and we both though it had a memory card that could be taken out. Instead it had a jack for a cable to hook between the camera and computer. I have one of those cables but I couldn't find it. Carol's friend will download the pictures and Carol will email me the four or five best, of which I'll then post the best one. It was a very good day.
I guess that this was your warning for us that you were about to change from a friendly Harrison Ford to a grimacing Mad Max.
We are both seriously handsome, me a little less seriously so.. We are both seriously handsome, me a little less seriously so. ( What does that even mean? I'm losing it. )
I agree with @Beth Gallagher , and I am also looking forward to the pictures from your horseback day. Not having a horse and being able to go out riding is one of the things that I miss the most in my life nowadays. Living in North Idaho, we had beautiful mountains to ride in, and on my days off from work, I had a friend that I usually went riding with, and loved spending the day out in the sunshine and riding down a mountain trail.
We subsequently discovered that the camera had both a jack and a card. The card was somewhat hidden in the battery compartment. We will get it figured out and I'll post pictures soon.
Speaking of pictures, I've been studying the features on my new iPhone camera. Sheesh. I don't want to be Ansel Adams, people. Why does a phone need so many camera settings??? (Though I got a couple of unintentional carpet shots and my feet.)
Thanks for reminding me, Beth. I was going to get a new camera to be able to post pictures of my cat Barney in Pets. I completely forgot that my phone has a camera I can use for that. Ansel Adams - "I believe in beauty. I believe in stones and water, air and soil, people and their future and their fate." Hah! I just taught you something that I didn't know... I mean something that you didn't know..
I've changed my avatar yet again. Dwight Ward is now Dwight Ward. The weight of the world cat is on my shoulder. I changed my avatar because I have multiple personality disorder and need to be several.people. I know this to be true because one of my personas is a psychiatrist. She should know.
My friend Carole is the world's worst photographer. She only took 5 pictures and they were all too far away. This the best of the bunch. Me and Lilly.
Some of the cameras today are so good you can crop out a lot of the picture after you take it, and it still looks clear.
Lilly looks like a beautiful horse, and it sounds like she is also a very caring one, from your story about your ride with her.
