Thank you, Karen. I'll take the rose one. Edit: changed my mind, just saw something with my favorite word, peanut butter in one basket, I'll take that one.
Don't forget the Nesting Eggs .... $187 for this set at the Russian Store. http://www.therussianstore.com/russian-easter-nesting-egg-13pcs-set.html .
Chrissy ..you got it girl! I love that one too.. I hid two shortbread cookies wrapped in Easter paper under the eggs
I have one of those that my hubby bought me from Russia when he was there on business. It was a favorite with my 12 yr old grandson when younger and visiting me.
Okay Chrissy..I looked for traditional Polish Easter cuisine. This looks so pretty..and this would be Paschal lamb too?
Yes they are called Matryoshka (Russian Dolls) one of the biggest tourist gifts in Russia there are whole shops devoted to them, and every personality you can imagine from Putin to US presidents to movie stars.
Hungary has many too with everything you can imagine. In the tourist areas. Think they cost about $25 if I remember correctly. Mine from Russia has a religious theme, I'll have to take a look at it to remember what it is. Edit: it's the Virgin Mary and inside is Jesus and I didn't look further but I think the tiniest one is the baby Jesus.
This is a family tradition in years past..my mom loves coconut cake and I would make this at Easter a lot with the little jelly bean decorations..probably not as perfect as this one..but I'll cut you all a piece if you like It has lemon filling.
Opened mine up. Glad to see grandson didn't lose the smallest piece. Also a lone marble elephant on that shelf.
