"Elite Airways is an airline based in the United States operating charter and scheduled passenger flights. The airline is a relatively new carrier that adjusts destinations as demand increases or decreases. The airline is headquartered in Portland, Maine." "Current destinations Arizona Bullhead City/Laughlin (NV) - Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport" This service began only a few weeks ago, providing twice-weekly service between Laughlin and Phoenix. This is a much-needed service, as all the other service consists of casino-subsidized charters, ~ 240,000 passengers annually. Frank For those who may have never flown before, here is an Elite flight taking off, shot through a window by a passenger. Note that breath-taking feeling as the ground just "drops away" beneath you! And, the remarkably low-level of engine noise or vibration.
Our little town has an airport that used to offer flights to Atlanta and Charlotte, NC, but they have all been discontinued. Now it just handles private charter flights---business people and rich football fans. Atlanta is only 65 miles away but it was often easier to fly to Atlanta for a connection than drive, because you could park free right near the airport door, and your luggage was already checked when you got there. If you're traveling alone it was handy, but not profitable apparently.
@Nancy Hart I called it out specifically because I was surprised when I learned Elite is home-officed in Maine, @Ken Anderson home state. Frank
