I understand the U.S. taxpayers are paying for Starlink in Ukraine now. Musk reported was providing at no charge, but when nobody agreed to negotiate a peace settlement, he declared that if Ukraine was going to continue to use his internet, someone was going to pay for it. Of course, we are on the hook.
What I read about the Starlink and Ukraine was that after Musk had set it all up and was paying for it, everything was fine until he tried to talk with Ukraine about meeting with Russia and talk about a peace agreement. Zelenskyy then was angry with Musk for even suggesting that they should stop the war , and they said some pretty nasty things to Musk (not repeatable here) and told him to get out. Rather than cause the Ukrainian people to lose their Starlink, Musk then went to the Pentagon and asked them to be responsible. Since the US was already sending so many millions of dollars and equipment to Ukraine, that seemed like a reasonable thing for Musk to do (to me). The latest happening on Twitter is pretty interesting, too ! People have been asking ever since Musk took Twitter over, for him to reinstate President Trump’s Twitter account, which was taken down when he was a sitting president in January 2020. Now that Trump has announced that he is a candidate for the presidency, people are saying that it is unfair for Twitter to ban one candidate and keep another one (Biden has also said he plans on having a second term). So, what Musk did was start a Twitter poll , asking whether Trump should be reinstated or not. He knew that he was setting a trap to bring out all of the bots, and it worked really, really well. At first , regular people were voting, and then the bots voting started, and Musk reported getting over one million votes per hour ! So, now he can eliminate a whole bunch of the bots at the same time that he is polling real people about reinstating Trump’s Twitter account. I imagine that he will probably do this, but after he generates even more business for twitter and removes the bots and trolls.
Musk Reinstated Trump's Twitter Account The final poll results on Saturday night showed 51.8% in favor and 48.2% opposed. The poll included 15 million votes. Of course there are other factors, not the least of which being:
Yes, I just saw that ! For some reason, he lost his followers, but people are re-following again really fast. Elon Musk built up all of the interest and excitement, then ran the poll. When Trump was winning, the liberals brought in the bots and the trolls, so they were caught in the trap that Elon Musk had set up for them. He outsmarted them all ! ! When people were voting, Musk was watching, and he said they were getting over a million vote an hour, so I am sure that he found a lot of the bots and trolls.
I think it was Barbara Streisand who said she gained something like 20# after the 2016 election because she was so upset that all she could eat was pancakes. I wonder how much weight she’s gonna gain now that Trump’s back on Twitter?
I cannot fathom the childishness of someone who would (a) do such a thing, and (b) talk about doing such a thing. And none of those types could give you any valid reasons whatsoever other than personality-driven.
I love the guy for the fact that he might be able to show the libs themselves in a mirror as well as to the rest of us for what they truly are. If he is as fed up as we are, maybe he is the answer to the end of the WEF too. What a great way to play the game!
People like Streisand and her ilk aren't the brightest or most mature people to begin with. If they have some talent that a lot of people will pay for (e.g., singinng, acting, modeling, etc.), more's the worse as they start breathing their own exhaust, thinking they're somehow superior and that their stuff doesn't stink.
I fear that without outside money to prop up the Leftist propaganda machine, Twitter may not be able to make it on its own. Having Trump might prop things up for a little while, but you can't succeed with a single point of failure like that.
The other night, Bobby and I were talking about Elon Musk moving the Tesla headquarters from California to Texas, and thinking that he might be also moving Twitter out of California, too. He is also apparently working on a Space-x launch site or headquarters there, so it makes lots of sense that he would also move Twitter. I just this morning read that Musk is indeed planning on having what he right now calls a second headquarters in Texas; so that sounds to me like it is the beginning of the actual move. I follow an investment kind of account called “unusual whales” (no idea what that means ?), and they are now reporting the impending transition to Texas on their website (screenshot).
