PP has always been rabidly anti-Second Amendment. I admit that I used it when there were no options (like EBay purchase.) My bank gives me 2 free checking accounts. In the early days I tied PP to it, and still use it for things like insurances that give a deep discount for drafts...but it's set up with no overdraft allowed and is replenished with monthly transfers from my other account. The world of high finance, huh?
I wonder if there are "issues" (contrived or real) with Sellers and the stuff they sell. The "speech" could only reside in a product listing, and only a Seller's account have money on deposit to snag (they gotta have escrow funds for refunds & such.) Maybe selling a MAGA hat will get you fined $2,500.
For several years, i have received the Northstar Newsletter, put out by journalist Michael Knight, who lives in Western Washington. He has written several books about Trump, Quanon, the Illuminati and similar topics. Amazon stopped letting him sell his books from there, and Paypal stopped letting him receive donations through their service. Other people who use Youtube, Rumble, or something similar to get their messages out depend on donations from subscribers. These are the people that paypal is attempting to stop. Since they already stopped letting conservative journalists like Michael Knight get donations from paypal, I do not know who they expect to target with the $2500 fines.
Remember Kathy Griffin, the "comedian" who held up the severed head of Trump when he first took office? She just got banned from Twitter. Impersonating others is a no-no on the platform, and she put "Elon Musk" as her username. Buh-bye.
Gag. Apparently a bunch of b-list "celebrities" pulled the same stunt. Valerie Bertinelli did the same thing and was not banned. They should have banned Griffin for just being creepy looking.
That's interesting. I wonder if she reverted to her own identity before she got caught...but apparently she sent out messages with the intent of impersonating him, and those do not get erased.
I am curious .. why do you like him? What makes him so special ? Please do not take a offense to my question.. I am just curious as to what people base their Like of someone on.
I'm not persuaded yet as to whether he is opposed to censorship or whether he wants to be in control of it. Time will tell.
And this just in, from Reuters... (Reuters) - Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, threw his weight behind Republicans ahead of Tuesday's U.S. midterm elections, saying they could use control of Congress to act as a balance against President Joe Biden's Democrats. His tweet to more than 110 million followers on Monday represented the first time the head of a major social media platform explicitly endorsed a U.S. political party.
Yeah, he has voted for Democrats his entire voting life, but apparently ol' Joe has been enough to convert him. He shut down the censoring division of Twitter until after the election. Apparently he will decide how to go forward after that.
