This is not being sentimental but I have lots of questions to ask from dead people. Maybe I want to consult known personalities like Jesus Christ but let's leave that to writers and let's stick to personal matters. My father and grandparents are the people I want to break bread with so we could have a family conversation. Incidentally, we had a clan reunion yesterday and so many questions cropped up that no one in the older generation could answer.
Is that a yes? Seriously, your post had me so hungry for scallops that I planned to go get some on the weekend... but just my luck, the blizzard hit and I was stranded. It wasn't until this morning that I heard my town had been basically shut down and anyone on the streets could be arrested... illegal to go anywhere. Scary stuff! Anyhow, those darn scallops of yours could have gotten me arrested, @Krissttina Isobe
I think I might go out on a limb and invite people I'm not keen on, just to see if I'm wrong, especially alleged celebrities. Mind you, I may have to hire a hall.
I still have one guest to invite and it just dawned on me the one person I really want to have a last conversation with is my late husband! I would love to tell him about the grandsons that he never met. He never saw any of our son's boys, he died 6 months after they were married. My son's first born son is named after my husband and the male version of my name.... Gabriel Christian. I would be a rude hostess though because I would ignore everyone else if I could spend one evening with my late husband again!
1. James A. Michener .......................... He wrote my favorite book The Source. 2. My grandmother Zella ...................... She taught me to be strong. 3. Helen of Troy. .................................... I always wondered how she let things get so out of control. 4. Nat King Cole ..................................... I could listen to him forever. 5. Tom Selleck ....................................... Hmmmmmm 6. Alfred Hitchcock ................................ Now that man had an imagination. I like a party where the guest are varied in talents, and can find someone that might interest them.
Ok, we've all chosen our quests now. What do you think you conversations will be about? Who do you think will control the conversation? What do you hope to learn? I would like to hear what James A. Michener and Alfred Hitchcock come up with for a good movie. I would like to ask Nat King Cole where his love song came from, and I would be happy if Tom Selleck just sat beside me and patted my hand in his reassuring way. Also I think my grandmother Zella would have a few unpleasant words for Helen od Troy. That's a beginning, and I'm sure if I think about it, I'll think of more things questions, but that'll get me started.
