well truth is, I tried once..it wouldn't let me in, so I tried again about an hour later , and it still wouldn't let me in, so I didn't bother again for many hours, so I dunno how long exactly it locked me out !!
It caught me in the middle of a post. The post went through, I see, although I got the resources error immediately afterward. I notified tech support, then posted a notice on our Facebook page. Then I tried the forum again and it was working.
I think that everyone here who uses Facebook should like and follow the forum Facebook page. It is an easy way to be able to get a message to Ken if you lose your password, or somehow get locked out of the forum, as well as a good way to find out if the forum is having a problem theat stops people from logging in or posting. If you aren’t sure how to find it, scroll to the black section at the bottom of the page, and under “Quick Navigation” , you will find the social media links for this forum.
I get that screen on occasion when on various sites. I always have to restart my wi fi after this. Computer expert neighbor tells me it is an attack by info thieves on the site I am using and he set up his modem and wifi that 3 of us neighbors are connected, to block any site while under attack, so it requires rebooting my wi fi because he has rebooted the master modem and wi fi. We link to his setup because he is connected as close as possible to where the fiber optics ends and the wire begins. He was only one located to hook to main line. The rest of us were getting our internet signal after it went through 15 miles of wire and amplifiers that were always having problems. Speed was 1/4th of what we were paying for.
If this was an individual's wifi or speed issue, many different posters would not be getting the error.
I haven't gotten the error this time, but I started a thread on October 2 when I did have the problem. http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/forum-error-resource-limit-is-reached.14055/
It isn't an individual issue, but a site issue effecting everyone visiting the site. Having to reboot my wi fi is an individual thing because of how I have security set.
It could be related to the time you generally post. Maybe less people are on the site or fewer people posting at one time while you are on. Yesterday evening was the first time it ever happened to me, even though some members mentioned it in a post awhile back.
Again, it was a DDOS attack. If every member decided to post at the same time, or even upload a photo at the same time, we'd still have plenty of resources to cover it. A DDOS attack is designed to overwhelm whatever amount of resources a site might have, and is usually targeting a hub rather than any particular site.
