There is One Creator. The first thing that I know of that He Created is Wisdom: "Wisdom the First Creation of God - Bible Hub https://biblehub.com/sermons/auth/horton/wisdom_the_first_creation_of_god.htm Here is the noble idea which overturns at a touch all mythological speculations about the origin of things — an idea which is in deep harmony with all the best knowledge of our time—that there is nothing fortuitous in the creation of the world; the Creator is not a blind Force, but an intelligent Being whose first creation is wisdom." ===================================== As for all other gods, He Says Clearly About all other gods this > "Habakkuk 2:19 Woe to him who says to wood, 'Awake!' or to ... https://biblehub.com/habakkuk/2-19.htm The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways."
Well, yes - that is the Creator's Ways are far far far above man's ways, and His Thoughts as High above man's thoughts as Heaven is above the earth. (immeasurable distantce - nothing in man's thoughts or science even barely compares to the Creator and The Creator's Ways). well..i saw this post ..started not to enter...then... just wanted to say...i am a plain and simple person... don't think about concepts..of God...being or not being omnipotent... some may call that ignorance... i call it bliss... i believe that God's spirit came to earth in the form of man who is Jesus Christ.. nailed to a tree in shape of a cross....sacrifice for the atonement of my sin and the whole world to be saved...that whosoever believe in Him will have everlasting life... Amen
Well, I offered to make the sacrifice and he didn't take me up on it. What more can a good Christian widow lady do?
But he left me practically standing at the alter. No man, no boat, no money, no kamayam, not even BALUTS & BEER .
My confession : As stated before do not believe in organized religion. Have always thought of myself as a spiritualist. Believing Christ is the Higher Power. At the same time, I do not and have never understood any version of the Bible in whole. Too many interpretations boggle me mind. I have never questioned my own belief until joining this forum. I do not know if that is good or bad. I am a Walter Brennan type prayer person, as getting on my knees makes it impossible to get up. I do believe all my previous sins (many many here) have been forgiven. Our Father, thank thee for this day, and my many blessings. I pray Lord for the forgiveness of my sins, all knowing and unknowing. I pray Lord for all those who are suffering and other adversity - especially - in Jesus name - Amen Well folks never shared my home made prayer before, so you all must be special ! Maybe more later, off to doctors appt.
Teresa, your post reflects Christian beliefs but also demonstrates why we should all study the Bible, read supporting material, and watch sermons to help us better know and love the God that we submit our lives to. Ignorance is not bliss when concerning a complicated topic of extreme importance because it can open the door to false religious beliefs. While the Muslims, Mormons, and Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God's Holy Spirit is a force, and Teresa has interestingly suggested that it came to earth in the form of man who is Jesus Christ, I'd suggest that such doctrine should be based upon the Bible. Doing so, from a legitimate translation, will reveal that the Holy Spirit is part of God's being, but with a separate personhood like Jesus - thus the ideology of the trinity. There are many Bible versus on God the Father, Son, and Spirit, demonstrating one being having the characteristics of three separate but equal persons. As difficult as it is for our minds to comprehend such a thing, it's the only ideology that makes sense of the various scriptural references. Here's one of the best to consider: "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.'” (Matthew 3:16-17) Here, at one moment, three members of the trinity are performing three distinct activities. God the Father is speaking from heaven; God the Son is being baptized and spoken to from heaven; and God the Holy Spirit is descending from heaven to rest upon and empower Jesus for his ministry.
