I suspect it's real enough(https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/), but already progressed beyond the tipping point. On the bright side, I suspect global warming is like GMOs....both are harmful, but by the time the accumulative effects become oppressive, us oldsters will be long gone.
@Neville Telen And the effects, whether good, bad, or non-existant, will be passed on to younger generations of strangers we can never know. More than global warming or GMOs, my personal concern centers around the endocrine-mimicing synthetic chemicals now widespread throughout the human-exposure environment. Frank
If global warming is attributable to human behaviour who will give up their cars or cancel holiday flights? Environmentalists fly the world to spread bad news. They are instrumental in dumping tons of carbon every journey. We are all hypocritical, contributors to our children's demise. Next ugly scene is the plastic disaster and overpopulation, but I have no room to judge, at 85 I should be long gone.
This scam makes me laugh a few ears ago they said it was so bad that we would not see snow by 2012. They would not say they are lying but doubled down and said all the ice would melt on the poles. These scare techniques go on and on. We need to pay carbon tax to someone who can not fix the problem because they are saying it is to late to change it so why pay tax?? They claim it is CO2 that is the problem but is CO2 not what plants need to grow kind of like fertilizer? Most all these [so called] scientist are liked back to the Rothschild they all work for them one way or another. The one's that don't say global warming is not man made and we might be going into another ice age. The idea of giving money to a group that are saying it is to late to fix it sounds a little crazy to me.
The 'carbon tax' is an obvious ripoff (probably aimed at the environmentalists and such), to make the do-gooders feel all warm and fuzzy about themselves....not much different than the Nannyites enforced-recycling. However, just because the carbon tax is malarkey, it does not automatically follow that everything else is. As to the scientists that support global warming and those that don't, I am reminded of the old debate on tobacco. A majority of scientists said it caused lung cancer, was addictive, etc., so the tobacco companies found some 'gun-for-hire' scientists to 'prove' it was harmless. This is called spin doctoring, and muddying the waters via disinformation. It proved quite successful for decades, until a whistleblower infiltrated the tobacco companies, and released those damning internal documents we all remember. This sort of 'plausible deniability' propaganda has been in play for a very long time ( http://theconversation.com/the-mani...rnays-and-the-birth-of-public-relations-44393), firstly by governments, and later by the corpocracies. As for conspiracy theory, there is no way to know which side Rothschilds/Illuminati are backing, as the principle of 'misdirection' comes into play, but perhaps what Churchill said might provide a clue "I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia. It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key. That key is Russian national interest." Perhaps this key is what would be in their 'interest'. I don't follow the 'Gemstone Files' and all that, but of what I have read about the Rothschilds/Illuminati , all points to Big Business (the generator of their cash flow), and 'one world government' (with them as puppetmaster), hence money and power is their 'interest'. So maybe you should ask yourself which side (climate alarmists vs climate deniers) would provide them the most mileage? Ask yourself this: if even half of what the alarmists are saying occurs, who would profit the most from such a scenario, and who would lose the most? As conspiracy theorists love to lament 'follow the money trail', but remember the technique of misdirection....the 'carbon tax' is peanuts, look for the flow of the big bucks.
You decide whether or not your carbon footprint will make your children's life a misery. At a personal level age makes it irrelevant but at seventy five I gave the car to my daughter; we were a one-car family. Now with grandchildren and their girl and boyfriends, car numbers have reached ten. This discussion will drag on forever but in the end if you have the money you will pollute. It's other people who should cut back.
With the increase of people, electronics, autos, plastic, items not recyclable -increased gases from lights and a host of many other things- yes,I believe all or least in part has much contributed to global warming - climate changes.
I think global warming with much more extreme weather events is caused by human activity, which we ignore at our peril.
The sun has more to do with the earth than anything people can do as far as weather. The sun right now is going through a low out put. This is a cycle that happens the last was the small ice age which we are headed for right now.
I absolutely think the same thing, @Chrissy Cross . Obviously, polluting the earth, and destroying the forests, and other things that mankind does uncaringly, is wreaking havoc with our earth, and we can eventually make it so that it is unlivable if we do not start taking care of it. However, there are natural things that happen, and have happened for eons, that have nothing to do with us, and very much affect our climate. Volcanoes erupting put ash clouds in the atmosphere that will circulate for years, and prevent sunlight from coming through, thus making the earth a little colder. As @Martin Alonzo pointed out the sun goes through warming and cooling cycles, and so does our earth, whether there are any humans living here of not; so no matter what we do, there are going to be earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, hurricanes, as well as other natural disasters that destroy everything in their path.
Several years ago we were told we had to stop using choroflorocarbons (cfc’s) and some key ingredients in aerosol cans because the use of them was opening a giant hole in the ozone layer. We were told that if the ozone layer opened any larger then we would all die from radiation poisoning and / or heat stroke. Note: at the same time Art Bell along with a group of scientists said that we would all face an ice age by 2012 or something like that. Now, the ozone layer is doing just fine and patching itself up and what are the scientists saying? My gosh, if the hole in the ozone layer completely closes then we will all suffer from what? Global Warming!! Wow! Alright guys, let’s start using those aerosol cans again and forget the push pump hair sprays and open that critter up a again!! Quickly now, or more polar bears will drown and we’ll all hate ourselves and everyone around us because of the heat. It’s a well know scientific fact that there wouldn’t be as many terrorists if it wasn’t so hot. (Psychodrama.)
