I see that your profile says that you are in Washington State, from the Pacific Northwest, @Janine Coral . I grew up in north Idaho, and lived for most of my life in either Idaho or Washington, on both the Eastern and Western sides of the state.
I really miss Western Washington and seeing the real mountains, like Rainier and Mt.Saint Helens, and lived out in the foothills there for quite a few years, where I could ride my horse on the Weyerhaeuser logging roads up into the mountains.
Now, I am living in Alabama, and don’t miss having to shovel snow at all.
Whereabouts in Washington are you located ?

*Yvonne Smith, I just now when reading some other intros here from members, saw
that I unintentionally had missed your post and replying to it. I was born and raised
down South of the state past Pierce County. Also then lived within Washington State
in some other areas and locations. These later years now am settled up North about
30 miles North of the Canadian Border and still in Washington.

Oh yes, the foothills, Mt Rainer and Mt Saint Helens, Weyerhaeuser, all places I have
spent time and visited over my years for one reason or another. I had applied to be
a tour guide at Weyerhaeuser back in the 80's and although I did not get that job, but
did get another similar nearby. You Yvonne rode your horse on the logging roads up
into the mountains, now those had to be scenic wonderful rides...

~ the shoveling of snow, it can get deep here in some parts, that is for sure ;)

Alabama and no shoveling snow, sounds perfect to me...

Do you remember LaConner, WA, most likely you do, I am near this area almost weekly
and the Tulip Festivals are grand this year again...

Again, sorry for the overlook and missing your post.

I remember LaConnor, and it seems like the SW Washington State Fair was near there. Not as big as the one in Puyallup, but I loved going to both of them when I lived in Western Washington .
I worked for Combined Insurance, so we had travel routes and I have worked in most of the little towns in both eastern and western Washington.
I am guessing that you mean that you live 30 miles SOUTH of the Canadian border now, and not north, @Janine Coral , since north would make you a Canadian ?

I am also happy that you decided to be a part of this forum, and we are all enjoying your good thread ideas. Cheerful people are always a good thing !

@Janine Coral Just saying hey from the giant river where the mighty sturgeon still swim --- the Pacific Northwest banana belt out east along the Columbia River, Oregon side. We don't get much snow here unlike when I live in the Eastern Oregon mountains and saw up to 13' one winter.

thank you Yvonne Smith, I'm not always cheerful, but I try ;) big smile, meaning I have my off days too.

I have enjoyed going to both fairs also, but frequented the Puyallup fair more over the years.

Yes, you caught that spot on, I'd meant to say 30 miles South of the Canadian border, but in
fact I just rechecked that, I am actually 50 miles south. No, not Canadian.

Yvonne you worked for Combined Insurance and had your travel routes, which had to be quite nice.
Those parts of a job can be rewarding I think. Myself having not had a job where I'd travel, back in
my younger years, I might have really enjoyed parts of that.
