That is great, sadly I don't see my 3 youngest grandsons more than twice a year in Illinois.

I understand your sadness. I have had all of my grandchildren right here in the same town with me since they were born. Then a couple of years ago my baby finally had her first baby me and my bible 2.jpg and a couple of months before our Luvey was born....my daughter and her husband had to move to Texas because of his job. I was not about to miss out on having this grandchild in my life...so I have been taking the train back and forth every since...and they come in often to Lafayette too. :) I am now the proud Granny of 7 beautiful grandkids!

Sure! There's always room for a new friend in my heart. I've never seen anyone with a pet, etc. on the train or even waiting to board on. I would think though that they should make accommodations for your "helpmate" Ina.

What a cutie!! My 5 are all boys. I love them more than anything but a granddaughter would have been nice but it wasn't meant to be.

I wonder who I would contact to see about being able to take him with me. His lisence says it is a federal offense to deny him access to anywhere I am able to go. Of course I do not take him to the grocery store, although I legally could. I don't take him to the VA Hospital, but I do have hopes of being able to take into the residential vets units. But right now that is another dream.

Sorry, I know I'm bad about getting off subject, but sometimes the conversation leads me astray.

I have a little almost six year old red headed brown eyed great-granddaughter that I've recently gotten her mom to agree to let her start to spend more time with me. She has a condition called alopecia, and it has caused her hair to fall out. Her skin is so pale that she can't be outside much, and my granddaughter feels I might be able to interest her in the many crafts I learned through the years.

I know of some seniors, particularly those retired, are going in that direction - visual arts. In fact, our former president Cory Aquino learned to paint while she was still president of our country. She said that it is a good way to de-stress and also to express your emotions in the arts. Her paintings are now commanding a good price in the market since she had already passed away.

I don't have an aptitude of visual arts and all I can do is admire. So I am leaving that to those with good artistic hands.

https://www.amtrak.com/carry-on-pets I came across this as I was checking to see if my train would be departing on time. On Amtrak's site you can also ask Julie a question about this.

Thanks @Babs Hunt , that sure tells me they need to pass this article around to their employees. Although it would help if they would understand that keeping a service dog in an enclosed container under a seat hampers the services animals ability to function as it needs to. Izzy scratches my arm if he feels a seizure coming on, and this gives me time to put myself in a safe position.

Hopefully arrangements can be made for whatever you would need Ina.

Ina, Izzy knows you are going to have a seizure before you do? That is really great. I had no idea dogs could be trained to do that. You should be able to take him on Amtrac and certainly not in a cage.
