Maybe that's true and maybe that's not, but like I mentioned in another comment, that's not my focus, it is celebrating Jesus, for me anyway, and I don't think He minds when I do that, it's how often I am focused on Him first
And, how right you are Denise. Titus 3:9 tells us to “avoid foolish controversies and genealogies because these are unprofitable and useless”. With a few exceptions like the Book of Revelation, the Bible is a fairly easy and comprehensive study. It’s when we, as humans start mixing in our own opinions and may I say, emotions, that we are distracted from what our focus should be on.
Because He existed prior to His birth to Mary, I'm thinking that's why the date of the birth of Christ was not considered an event to be commemorated, only the circumstances surrounding it.
Yes, I never heard anyone mention this over the years! I just see so many other things overshadowing man's and woman's fixation on the exact date anyone cares to celebrate It's things like that, that have caused so many "churches" to separate themselves from other, biblical churches. The problem isn't God's Word, and I think someone already hit on this, it's man/woman's ego and insistence on being the perfect and "only" church that knows Christ. How many times does the bible put the importance of being humble, 56 times is one sites info. I don't know if that's right, but it's mentioned a lot
