    Glad you enjoyed it @Yvonne Smith I attended one church, but I'm thinking 20 years ago now, and we went to a Convelesent home to Carol. I worry too much about not having a good singing voice but it was one of the best things I ever did. Luckily lots of others to drown me out, LOL!! Your "hay" ride/caroling trip sounds wonderful!

    I'll bet this is still alive in lots of "small town" places, not here sadly, even before Covid. I miss those times too, and one thing I did get to do all the way up into my 30s, was have Christmas at my brother and his wifes home in Eugene. She played the piano and the whole family would sing carols, happy memories.
