Two nations in Latin America have declared health emergencies due to the Bird Flu crossing into mammals. I also saw that university teams in Japan, U.S. (Wisconsin), and Netherlands have been working with this virus using gain-of-function to strengthen the virus and get it to cross into ferrets. I guess we never learn until we go extinct form our own stupidity.
