No, Frank. It's a membrane behind the lens that gets cloudy. That I remember. You should read the description of Lasik surgery. That's worse, imo.
81 here, and eyes are great and I've been taking eye supports for many years. Vit C Grape Seed Extract Lutein/Bilberry Similasan for Dry Eyes Crystalline Eye Drops for the last couple yrs. Cataract Prevention I was told by an eye doc about 20 yrs ago, here comes the cataracts...more money for him and the surgeons. No cataracts here and 20 yrs gone by. Staying away from all surgery knives is my goal. Even yrs of floaters are about gone. So I got to work, which I do for ALL of my health issues. Sunglasses outside on sunny and cloudy days. And if I lived in snow, it would be true too. Folks we NEED to work to control our health from head to toe.
@Joy Martin, congratulations on having no problems with cataracts, and thanks for the information. You may be the perfect person to ask. Do you ever see starbursts from streetlights or headlights at night?
I quit driving at night maybe 10 yrs ago. And due to knee mess from a hip surgery that left me with major complications, I gave up driving period a couple yrs ago. I don't miss driving.
I had laser cataract surgery, in both eyes, last October and my vision is now 20/20 without any restrictions on my DL (glasses). I can drive perfectly at night, but sometimes do wear yellow driving glasses. Only wear reading glasses to read fine print, like maybe a menu at a restaurant. No more glasses for tv, driving or using the computer. Darn glad I got the laser surgery!
