Happy Fourth of July to all.... Every July I celebrate twice...the 4th (USA) and the 9th (Argentina). When is Canada's Independence day?
Happy 4th to you too Silvia! Canada left the Commonwealth in 1982 and redid their Constitution but what day and month that would have been is a google item for me. Heck, I’m not sure if it’s even called an independence day. I guess I’ll look it up.
We heard some fireworks last night, but the idiots firing their guns off, that's just plain stupid..............unless, of course, your closest neighbor is 10 miles away, but, still have to watch out for where the bullets come down. They don't feel so good when they hit the head, shoulder or foot.
Our poor little dogs have been hiding in their doggie beds, or close by us, they hate the constant big BOOMS, and the gunshots, and it seems to go on incessantly. Poodle has been in my lap most of the time, and follows me everywhere. He is even following me into the bathroom, which is his least liked room, since he gets baths in that room. I am pretty sure that the people in our neighborhood are not even doing this celebrating because they want to honor our Independance Day, but just because they have fireworks, loud firecrackers, and like making noise at all hours of the day and night. Even the fitness center is closed today, so we are just going to stay home, and just enjoy the day. Our flags (as always) are waving from the front porch. It is still cool here, and I am bundled up with my jacket and warm socks as I write this.
I think they have Canada day or something but this year it was spoiled by the mass graves they found outside a school?
Thank you for the thread and the wish Sylvia... I too would like to Wish EVERYBODY a HAPPY and SAFE 4TH of JULY 2021!!!
Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela also celebrate Independence Day on the month of July.
Well dang Faye, thanks a lot for putting a HUGE damper on one of my favority holidays!! Just for a minute though. Wow, you certainly did cause (more) food for thought and so much of what you said being true, sadly. That's why I quoted the whole thing. *smiles* Very well said... HOWEVER... I've just been getting ready (and waiting) to go out later to enjoy the festivities around town and then plan on going across the lake on the ferry. They won't have the fireworks over the lake until around 9:00 pm, and a very short planned firework display it is this year! And THAT'S how I will celebrate this July 4th, 2021, despite the insanity in todays' world!
