    LOL
Glad to see I am not the only chicken lover. I like my cat Bonneroo but I LOVE my silkie rooster Orville. Saw this video and don't feel so lonely anymore.

First off, a silkie rooster is not worth eating. And I used to feel badly about eating anything I raised. But animals that are for slaughter are treated horribly a lot of the time--look up factory farmed chickens to processing. The transporting of larger animals to their ends, I can't even think about anymore. I give my animals the best life possible. I found a company that would come to my farm and one bullet to the head while my Bella was having breakfast put her down instantly and then the truck took her to be butchered. No fear nor pain. It is just how one thinks about it.

I assume the hog is happy. Maybe the lady's arm is stuck.

I don't do pigs. They smell yucky. And probably someone who lays down with them does too.

It's from Craigslist. I'm sure she smells money.

She's braver than I am. In my experience, you never got near a sow with a litter.

Ok, I don't have a picture but you can just imagine it. I have an over abundance of chipmunks. I trapped one and took it for a ride but after that, at least one has taken the baits, repeatedly and escaped the trap, I saw him once. He got a running start and rammed himself between the wires. Owwwww.
Well, now he comes scratching at my patio door, asking about breakfast every day. First I thought it was his reflection he was responding to. but, no, he just gave me a dirty look.o_O

When I was a kid, we vacationed at Muskegon State Park on Lake Michigan every year. My dad parked our small trailer there for the entire season, and we would stay there during dad's vacation, and then even more time with our mother and dad would come up on weekends. The place was heavily wooded with pine trees, and was overrun with chipmunks. It's one of my most vivid memories of the place. Of course, as a kid, I loved them. I'm not sure if they were a plague on the adult campers. I don't ever recall seeing any in Virginia...either outside of DC or this rural area.

If you're overrun, I can't imagine putting a dent in them playing Catch & Relocate. Are they property-destructive, or just garden pests?

This year, They have dug up every watermelon seed I have put in and any seed larger than a radish, actually. My daughter's dog used to take care of them but she died last January. It is funny, they dig up the hickory seedlings I put in and eat the nuts off of them or just check the roots for nuts. Then they put black walnuts all around my house. Not good for the foundation. One year they got into my basement. That year I was cracking hickory nuts on shares.
It seems they come in waves. A few years we are infested. Then they are gone. Same with rabbits. Probably the foxes and hawks doing their rounds. I don''t want to poison them for the other critters who might eat them.
Don't worry about me. I will just do the garden at the farm.
