Happy birthday to your beloved Queen, Patsy. As children, she was an inspiration to even us kids in the U.S.A. during the war.
The baby is a carbon copy of William. The girl looks like Kate, I think. Altogether, a beautiful family.
Wills and Kate are such a delight and so perfect together, just lovely to see amongst all the gloom @Shirley Martin
I think the girl is the miniature of the Queen. Prince Louis is going to be a lady killer. Mark my words.
I quite agree, Patsy. I watched an interesting documentary last night on Prince William of Glouster. Seems as though he was somewhat like his uncle, King Edward in his choice of women. However, unlike Edward, he did have a sense of duty to the Crown even though he'd never had become King had he lived. I surmise there are some conflicting stories involved in the telling of his story. Good looking lad who died much too young. Seems as though each generation in that family has its star crossed lovers.
I have always admired Queen Elizabeth. She is a real lady of substance, regality, intelligence, and virtue. She and Billy Graham were great friends, and she always prayed for him and supported his crusades in England. She also met with him privately a few times, which is unusual for a Queen. According to Royal Family historian Robert Lacey, "The Queen is 'deeply religious' and 'Her Christian faith is fundamental to her, in an old-time evangelical way.' So happy birthday!!
Very true Hugh, I think her faith kept her going @Hugh Manely @Lois Winters - Had to look him up Lois, never heard of him. Not really interested in outskirts Royals, Its the Queen Mum, the Queen, William and Kate for me
I recall seeing a documentary on Prince Philips Mother, that was very interesting and she was a sad figure I understood Philip a lot more after seeing it @Lois Winters
Yes, I've seen a couple of them about her. He was shunted around as a kid. To be truthful, Patsy, I was never much interested in the monarchy of any country, but European history has piqued my interest as to how they even became royals in the first place. I just watched the Real Monarch of Britain who would be Michael Plantagenet-Hastings who lives in Australia. He's well aware of his place in that family, but left it as a young man and never looked back. I doubt he'd be bothered challenging the throne due to Arthur !V's illegitimacy. No worth the bother and he's his own man.
