    I knew the French ate cheval, but had no idea the Brits did. (My mother was a war bride. She never mentioned it.)

    Squirrel is tasty . I have had turtle, rabbit (wild) alligator, frog legs,, those are the only ones I remember

    People used to hunt turtles on our lake, snapping turtles would be snappi9ng at their pants legs as they walked.

    These list are bringing up things I had forgotten about. Me, too, frog legs and turtle. Also eel, durrian cookies (didn't like), poi (didn't like), sea cucumber (liked), and sushi topped with sea urchin roe (gag!) and other toppings much more to my liking.

    Years ago, I went to a chili cookoff. Had a sample of some chili and the meat tasted really good. Then, the man that cooked the chili took me around the corner of where he had been cooking and showed me a rattlesnake skin on a board. He said, "this is the meat you were eating that you said tasted so good." The "one and only" time I ate rattlesnake!

    My last job used to have a chili cook off around this time of year (contributions for charity) and one guy's concoction was called "308 Chili." As you probably know, 308 is a rifle caliber, usually used for deer hunting. It was a high-end government contractor full of Washington DC types. I bet 90% of the people at that place would have freaked out if they knew.

    I'm gonna have to add rattlesnake to my list of foods to try.

    I have never eaten any of these animals, but I did eat alligator when Bobby served it at our restaurant in Idaho, and it was pretty good the way that he cooked it.
    I do not think that I want to eat any of these other animals, at least not just to say that I have eaten them. Bobby was telling me this morning that our little Hispanic neighbor boy told him that he did not like eating squirrels, but his mother somehow catches or kills them and they eat the squirrels.
    We still have lots of squirrels in our trees, so she must not be getting too many of them; but they definitely need thinned out a bit.

    When an Idaho Country Girl marries a Louisiana Man, and he is a chef who wants to have a Cajun Buffet in the mountains of North Idaho, then creatures like live crawfish, alligator tails, soft shell crab, and lots of oysters and shrimp find their way onto the buffet tables.

    I have eaten many wild things, including rattlesnake. There used to be a site you could order all those meats but it was kinda pricey. As I have said, I don't like woodchuck and raccoon tastes like raccoon. People always ask what they taste like.
    I don't go out of my way to eat weird things but can if need be.

    I heard that all those poor horses that made it through WW1 were shipped home to England to be eaten since their brains were fried by PTSD and there was a shortage of beef.:(

    The only weird things I've ever eaten were snails, Tender Vittles & Friskies Kibble.
    In 8th grade, our French teacher brought Escargots for anyone who wanted to try them. I wasn't going to because I thought they would be those same slimy snails I see in the yard. The teacher explained that they were different snails, so I tried a couple. They were small water snails that sorta tasted like shrimp. She also brought garlic bread, which I liked more than the snails.
    When I was 5, I noticed that our cat went crazy over Tender Vittles, so I just had to try some. They had no taste at all. Same with the Friskies Kibble; like eating wood.
