Thanks for the warning, Yvonne. I listen to NPR on the radio all the time and I get enough of that there. About once a year I buy one month of Netflix, watch the latest season of "The Crown" and anything else that looks good. I've always seen all I want to see before my month is over.
We the people are the ones who make these M#$%@F~@$%$ rich! Stop promoting and buying and watching things that are a waste of time and your money -least much as possible. This is a generalization so do not take it personally. Icons like Swifty- does that witch not have enough money already? She does not need more promoting. Famous and rich people - we made them that way. Reminds me of a tiny fiery ball of a woman I knew who had 4 kids that towered over her as teenagers. You could here her across the street whopping upon one of them... 'just remember- I brought you into this world and I can take your happy ass out !' Just say'en - we should use this approach to famous and rich folk. We can make'em or break'em.
Here's the fun part -- There are only TWO black people in the cast, and neither are famous nor are they the stars of the film. I just went to IMDb and rated it, one star, never saw it.
My review. I am a Mahershala Ali fan. I try to watch something I know he is in. After the first few minutes, I had to force myself to continue. Julia Roberts ruled the roost, and I'm not a fan. I found the movie slick and pretentious. It is very fast moving, however, and can command attention to the action. There were fast paced fun moments. The end, however was slick and pretentious in a different way than the beginning. I can understand why most here would not like it. Go with your intuition and don't watch it; it's not for you and it was barely for me. Still love Mahershala though! Pardon my lack of more details, not that most here would want them anyway. You see, I forgot most of what I watched shortly after watching it. That's been happening a lot lately. However, I remember my impression and that's all I could report. I'm glad I saw it though, it helped fill a sick day afternoon. I would only recommend it with the above warnings.
Oh brother, I can't wait to miss this one. Like "it's" book "becoming" which you couldn't avoid after them spending their millions to "push it" on Americans.
sounds to me like they're having a hard time figuring what to spend our tax-money on, that they pocketed for doing nothing while in the Whitehouse.
I think they are less expensive vehicles, white ones, I have had 2 of my vehicles white because less money. Read into that what anyone wants to I just wish the whole "race" thing would quit being confused with a persons attributes, skills, abilities, and attitudes. I wouldn't like the obamas if they were as white as snow. I'm still like that little girl in my avatar that didn't understand people being judged on the color of their skin
Another critique I forgot: It was Preachy. It was. I actually agree with most assessments stated above, but without the anger & bitterness. (I love Clint Eastwood. I can eagerly watch his movies without thinking of his politics. The man makes great movies!!!!!!!) Yes, upon reflection, this movie 'Leave It All Behind' could be called a Stinker!
Same here. I grew up without knowing that some explorer, a thousand years ago, decided to divide the different people he had seen according to race names he had given them. The divisions don't have any scientific meaning other than differences based on their native climates. My parents weren't racist and they didn't describe people by race names, so I tried to do the same with my son, but it's getting harder and harder, because it's becoming the first thing the media brings up in every story and it's all people talk about.
