    Remember Johnnie Ray?

He was a big hit of the 1950's from his songs such as "Cry", "The Little White Cloud That Cried", "Please, Mr. Sun", "Walkin' In The Rain", and others.

    A very emotional singer.

I copied this from net to save me typing it :)

Roy Orbison was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads. His music was described by critics as operatic

He must've made 6,223 appearances on Ed Sullivan. Same with Teresa Brewer.
