Today I got the results from the heart monitor that I wore for a week. (They said they were having computer problems so this was a bit late. Good thing I wasn't having life or death symptoms. ) At any rate, another test that shows no abnormality with my heart. The monitor indicated occasional PVC/PAC but nothing out of the ordinary. No AFIB. I'm really glad to be wasting $$ on this stuff. (And I have learned a whole slew of acronyms.)
I know they are being cautious, but it's annoying when doctors almost scare people with their 'what if's'. At least you got good news!! I'm surprised they didn't put you on a round of preventive meds.
Well, I still have the stress test next Monday and then I'll consult with the cardiologist. (They have to schedule each thing separately to glean the maximum office visits to charge, lol.) So they might be saving that for last. I'm curious as to whether he'll recommend any changes in diet or whatever so we'll see.
Cardiology person just called and rescheduled my stress test till February 10. They are having some construction done and needed to postpone. I'll be glad to be done with all this.
Welp, I had the stress test today and the results were once again normal. I had an occasional "extra" heartbeat but that was the only anomaly. It was actually more difficult than I expected; I don't remember the incline angle of the treadmill being so high. I can walk pretty fast on level ground but adding that incline was tough. Whew. So the tests are all done and no significant issues found.
Well, I'm back again to obsess about my heartbeat. I got a new Fitbit this week; I wanted a smaller one that is water resistant so I can wear it in the pool. Right off the bat I noticed that my resting heart rate has increased from around 60 bpm to 70 in the past couple of years, which is no big deal but tells me to get out of this recliner more often. I also notice that when I'm sitting for a while, reading or watching TV, my heart rate will increase to around 90 bpm with no exertion. It bugs me because I don't understand why it gets higher for no apparent reason. I'm wondering if this is the "PVC" thing... I still don't feel any weird sensation at all. Hmmm. I might have to invest in a new Apple watch with that EKG app so I can have something new to obsess over.
Haha. Well, that's probably a good idea but it does keep me motivated to get up and move so I guess I'll keep it.
