Hi, @Tommy Tucker! Welcome! I knew @Ken Anderson was joshing you about the vowels. I hope nobody takes offense when I kid with y'all about your funny accents and call you Englishters. Should I stop doing that?
Don't you dare do that, you could start a 'Vowel War' and then Kens angels would have to intervene and I would have to run another comic strip all about the conflict. What a great idea ...
Well not from me - its obvious you are joking and as you should know, I'm all for a laugh It was irritating for me to see yet another post on the 'English' On the lines of 'I don't like the way the English speak, they use too many vowels' 'I don't watch English shows, Monty Python was OK' ........ and a couple of other referrals Maybe I don't get the 'joke' - I just see it as unnecessary to repeat the statements Anyhoo - I've had a gripe about it and feel better for it
In the past, I have been teased for telling the same joke twice but I haven't had anyone get angry with me for it before. I also listed a couple of Monty Python movies among my favorite movies, and said that I preferred the British version of Being Human to the American one. When I talk about movies or music that I like, I don't mean it as a political statement; I am simply commenting on what I like.
There are two types of Music, Art, Sex, (the list goes on) and they are ; what you like and what you don't like. These preferences are for the most part 'hard wired' into us either through upbringing, knowledge or ignorance. No one has the right to criticise another for being different unless they are threatening them in some way. If we feel threatened just because someone is different then that is caused by our own insecurity, like a flock of sparrows that will attack a budgerigar we are frightened of something new and radically different in case it causes our life to change. We don't want our illusions shattered or our bubbles to burst and that is understandable but we have the gift of humor which allows us to laugh at our fears, so the more people 'poke fun at me' the more barriers are broken down. Having fun and laughing may not be 'cool' or politically correct but it sure works for me, so 'bring it on'.
I don't worry what anyone says, I'm proud to be English, they will soon know when they do annoy me, I'm here to have some fun
@Ken Anderson I wasn't angry, I was irritated Humour is a big part of my life together with music, helps me to carry on I 'genuinely' thought you were anti English which I feel has no place on a forum Shall we draw a line through it and move on .....................
I knew you were joking @Ken Anderson but at the time I didn't feel like posting it in your defenCe, lol. Of course the word defense isn't using extra letters just a different one but I'm too lazy to think of a better sentence.
