I see leftists as emotional thinkers and if you present them with a logical argument against their beliefs....what do they do? They react emotionally.

We've had people on the right leave the forum because I wouldn't ban someone from expounding leftist views, so it's not solely on the left. I do see this far more often on the left, but I'm open to the suggestion that this is clouded somewhat by my own views.

Why can't we all be Independents. That way we can disagree with everyone and not attack by doing so.

That doesn't help. I haven't been registered with a political party since 2012.

And that kind of gets to the heart of the issue. If we were one party, we would not be divided. We would be as the constitution envisioned us, one people but of individual character.

“"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."”

Giving us back our Republic would remove the central control that we [rightfully] bicker over.
