Good morning. I am up early, and I haven't left home to head over to the "Hi-GoodBye" yet. I am still in the real world. It's a challenge to run a virtual establishment, like the "Hi-GoodBye". Sometimes, I forget that it is not a brick & mortar coffee shop, just around the corner, but instead a story-line of smoke & mirrors. Most of what I write in these posts is friendly fiction. Please don't confuse every word with fact, and feel free to spin the story in your direction. When Dave Sun moved to Florida, I forgot that he was still "just around the corner"! I have sunk my Wife's savings into....er, I'm sorry...my LIFE'S savings into this place, and I appreciate all the support received from all of you! Last night, in the real world, I made a blueberry swizzle coffee-cake from a mix, of sorts. It had a bag of flour, a packet of blueberry goo, and a bag of crumb topping. I had to add water, an egg, and 2 Tbl of vegetable oil. I baked it in a glass, 8x8x2 pan, for 38 minutes, at 375 degrees. After it cooled, I covered it with saran wrap. This morning, we will have some coffee cake and make a pot of coffee, in our 1940, West Bend electric percolator. Even ground the beans! All that baking, made me appreciate Dave Sun's efforts, and I hope he is able to make a delivery soon. Well, nuff said! Time to walk over to the Hi-GoodBye, and open up. Maybe I'll see you later. Have a good one!
Good Saturday morning, again, what can I get you? This morning's special is Blueberry Swizzel coffee cake! Coffee's brewing!
I'll take one order of your Blueberry Swizzle Coffee Cake…and another to go!! mmm This is Jukebox Day, right?
Down here in Texas, back in the 50's to about the mid 70's, if you were around a juke box, you were more than likely in an icehouse. They were bars that would open the walls upward to make roofs to cover the outdoor tables and benches. Many a child spent time playing and running around with other children, and begging for quarters to up in the juke box. I learned my first song in an icehouse, "Hang Down Your Head Tom Dooly".
Good morning.....how about watching the bacon, while I get a few things. Don't worry, when the smoke alarm goes off...it's done!
