Ella Fitzgerald takes me back to what we use to called coffee houses, at least up Northeast. She always made me want to sway in place, as if to comfort myself. I notice this style of singing is coming back. Althought I can't remember their names, I have heard a few young singer starting to pick up this style, Do any of you know the names of some of the younger generation that are picking up on this style.
Five years ago,for our Fortieth Anniversary, we went to a World Famous Glen Miller Orchestra Program at the High School. Julia Rich, sang with the band. She was from Nashville. My favorite was "I'm putting all my eggs in one basket", but I couldn't find it. Here she is.
I've never heard of her Joe, so thank you for bringing her forth. Not only can you understand all the words, but you can hear the music as well. I find this kind of music playful, and encouraging.
What are those? Are they just for heating water for tea? Moonshine? (as is the CD's name). Some kind of coffeemaker? I liked Faraway Places but made me miss Japan a little.
